I enjoyed Neocore's earlier King Arthur hybrid RPG/RTS games quite a bit. They are bringing new game out set in a 'darker' King Arthur world next next year \m/
I only liked the first title. The second title was a tremendous letdown.
I just Kickstarted it for about 25.00 to make RyanE happy.

:2funny:
I don't think anything will make that guy happy.
I'm trying my hardest!
Wait, darker than their original duology?! :hide:
More darker = more gooder!
I tried the original, but didn't enjoy it much. I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed many RTS titles. This one does seem interesting.
Early access starts today....$34.99...not sure I am interested enough for that price right now unless overwhelming positive feedback.

The initial early access build seems very limited...It contains only 2 story missions, 8 additional points of interests, 7 heroes from 4 classes (with a progression cap of level 5), 3 buildings to build and upgrade in Camelot, and an intro cinematic. Quite frankly, the small party RPG aspect of the game doesn't thrill me. They have this massive opening cinematic showing battles with thousands of units and then you look at the screen shots and you have like 3 knights to control. Seems really underwhelming, just like the second title in the series. The first title was really fantastic. I don't know why they continue to stray from its formula. It really epitomized a "hidden gem". Anyway, I'll probably pick this up eventually once it is steeply discounted, but as of right now, I have no urge to try it out.
Just got my early access code. I never picked up the 2nd Neocore King Arthur game because of the crap reviews. I'm hoping that since it is so early in the process here, there's tons more content in the works. There has to be.
I'm with Jarhead on this one. I'm not sure why these guys feel the need to mess with a winning formula. King Arthur 1 was a fantastic game. I could never win it, but it was always fun while it lasted.
I never won the first one either.
Yeah. The thing is, I watched/read a full Let's Play where the guy won the game and I set all the difficulties to easy, and I still just could never win the game. Every time, at least 3 times, I'd get to the same point where I couldn't win any of the quests, and I'd get rebels popping up all over my kingdom, and I'd just get overwhelmed. I could never seem to keep up with the computer with recruiting or training high-level troops. It was infuriating because I was always really enjoying the game up until it became unwinnable.
I definitely remember getting stuck at the same exact point too, every time. I bet it was the same point as you.
Uh, So What's your point? ;D
:-[
Sorry, I was just trying to be punny with your post above about all of your points. I've been called smart ass more than once in my life because of my obnoxious nature.
Never apologize for being punny around here :nerd:
What was the verdict on this one, Gus? You're the only person I know on the site who actually played it.
Worth buying?
^Still early access, but the team has ramped up production in the last few weeks. I have not yet played the latest build, but the early build I did play, although bare bones, gave me good vibes for the future.
Yeah, I went to their store page after I posted last night and it sounds like the game is pretty content-thin at the moment. I think I'll hold off until there's more meat on the bones. It sounds like an interesting concept, though.
I love Neocore titles for the most part but I would be in denial if I didn't admit their games can also be hit or miss.
Development continues at a quick clip and it appears tons of new features have been added in the last few months <:-)
I really have to get back to this one. Full release actually not that far off!
:D
Was reconsidering this with the release today but read it is 120gb in size...very surprised by that. Would take me half day to even download with my internet,
I patched it up to v1.0 last night, have not fired it up yet.

Yeah, I am going to wait until they reduce the size. Sounds like the developer is aware and looking to make "moderate" improvements. I am in no hurry, not a must have game, just thought might be interesting.
Agreed, I've enjoyed about half their releases...the first King Arthur wargame rocked, then the second one...not so much. I played this one in early access for a few hours when it was nowhere near complete and enjoyed it though, so fingers crossed.
Saw today some user of the game was able to modify the files and got it down from 120gb to 34gb.....sounds like the game was not optimized very well. So maybe there is hope they can do something like that eventually.
^Yes I read online that a patch is coming soon to reduce the footprint and boost optimization.
