So I was wondering about antiship missiles.  One might suppose that the Russians would be wary of them and in this hypothetical future, they are.  Here Varyag (played by a Slava cruiser
like Moskva) runs for Syria in a storm.  The USN moves two Arleigh Burke DDGs to intercept.  The DDGs are 20 nm appart since the position of Varyag and her escorts is uncertain.  The escorts are
a very advanced Krivak V (aka Admiral Grigorovich class) FFG and a not quite as advanced Krivak IV FFG.  The Russian ships are not using their radars, though the FFGs have pretty good ES.
The US DDGs will go active soon since their radars have twice the surface detection ranges as any of the Russian radars (according to Harpoon V...not sure why this massive tech advantage is there, but
it is...some recent runs I've done in Command Modern etc. suggest an even greater tech difference as do the Ukrainian hits on ships in the Black Sea ), but in the stormy weather, the Russians might slip by anyway.  We will see:

The USN DDGs alternate active searches. Jeremiah spots all three Russian ships at about 40 nautical miles.  The advanced Krivak V detects the tell-tale US radar at about the same time.
The Russians probably need to go active to have any chance of intercepting any missiles coming in...so their first response has to be defensive.  Jeremiah can see how good the targetting solution is
or wait or shut down and have Quinten go active or wait as well.  I'll roll some die and see what everybody does.

The Russians didn't do much.  After all they can only see the one enemy DDG initially.  The USN DDGs lofted decoys and put on jammers and launched 12 maritime strike tomahawks each.
12 should be able to acquire their intended targets while 12 might lock on to something else maybe:

Weirdly...or maybe not (it seems like the Admiral Markov, a Krivak V, FFG was just hit off Snake Island), because the maritime strike tomahawks are stealthy, the Krivak V in this
scenario didn't spot them until they were only six nautical miles away, so they were massively wiped out.  of the 12 other  maritime strike tomahawks that went astray,
5 hit the other Krivak.  I guess that's educational.  I think Varyag would be doomed in this scenario.
