Iran Paying Afgans to Fight for Syria

There was an interesting, and plausible story in the Wall St. Journal that Iran is paying Afgans $500 a month, plus the option of becoming an Iranian citizen if they will go to Syria and fight for Assad.  It was stated that these additional troops had decent morale and that this was part of the reason that the Syrian government had been winning of late.

I'm not at all surprised. It's turned into a massive proxy war between Saudi Arabia vs Iran. It's good news for Israel, as it keeps the warring factions at each others throats, but bad news for the ordinary Syrian, irrespective of whatever side their demographics put them on. Very sad. :(
