I liked #1. #2 seemed to just try to be louder and more 'action sequences' that were too much
It was like going from Pirates 1 to 3. I'm hoping SH3 is closer to Pirates 4 than 3

It's as much Sherlock Holmes as Jar Jar Trek is Star Trek.
Sherlock Stark. Could work.
I'm kinda surprised that RDJ is adamant to get out of the Marvel metaverse to...star in another blockbuster type sequel.
I figure he'd want to do some art house stuff since he has more money than most 3rd world countries at this point.

I'm not necessarily saying its true-to-character. The BBC update series is way better for that.
I did enjoy the first movie for what it was, though. Change the names from Watson/Holmes to Shawcross/Colback and you'd have a fun Steampunkish romp of a movie
Plus, any opportunity to watch Mark Strong chewing scenery is a good time
I don't want Guy Ritchie screwing up Shawcross/Colback :knuppel2:
^LOL

With Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman? I couldn't get into that show.

I agree. Season 2 tried too hard but just turned out weird.

I was talking about the movies, not the TV show.
So Robert Downey Jr will battle Benedict Cumberbatch for the title of 'Iron Dr. Stange Holmes'?

Ahh. Sorry.
And Jude Law can be his assistant, Dr. War Machine Watson. :bd:

That is actually a pretty cool name. I might use that sometime.
Feel free-- no copy writes.
The BBC series was fun for a while, but it went off the rails badly, and the seeds for that can be clearly seen in the first season -- where no, I don't think Cumberbatch's portrayal was especially true to the character. Holmes might have been a little eccentric, but he was never a barely/high-functioning sociopath with more quirks than Mr. Quirky the quirky fox who had graduated with a masters of quirkiness from the national university of quirkiness. (And I'm citing showrunner Moffet there where he was self-critically poking fun at his own Doctor Who characterization.)
The last season of the BBC series with the forgotten sister was kind of stupid. But leading up to that I enjoyed it.
Feature-length primal hallucinatory nightmar--uh, analysis of the series:
Highly entertaining, and even though I liked the first three seasons I can't argue with most of it.
Yeah, I also loved all of it, even the 19th Century interlude, until Psycho Sister happened. After that it seemed pretty hokey.
If someone wants to make a serious run at a Steampunk show, they should bring back Warehouse 12 and HG Wells.
Warehouse 12 was fun.
Yes it was. Eureka was pretty good as well. Those were good times on cable TV. Don't forget SG1, SG:Atlantis, BSG, LEXX, Farscape, etc, etc...
I miss Scifi Fridays... I miss the Scifi Channel... :(
LEXX was downright weird, in a good way. Farscape is a sci-fi classic. Would love to see a reunion.

LEXX seemed to be Warhammer40K as seen by a subdued Mel Brooks.
Farscape... I really need to treat myself to a run through of the entire series, followed up by Peacekeeper Wars.
I'm glad that Ben Browder and Claudia Black were able to get gigs on SG1 after Farscape wrapped up.

Eureka inhabited the same 'world' as Warehouse 13 and they had a few characters cross over

They changed the name b/c they cold copyright "SyFy" but they couldn't copyright "SciFi"
Whenever I'm scrolling thru the guide and I see "SYFYHD" I keep thinking it's some kind of Welsh language channel...
Plus the crap they show isn't really SciFi. It is, however, SyFy.

Killjoys is pretty solid.
I'm stacking up episodes of The Expanse to binge one weekend.
Dunno if you'd count The Magicians as "SciFi" but what other channel would you put that on?

Showtime with lots of nekkid witches.
I'm good with The Expanse and the Magicians has turned out better than I thought it would. Still need to catch up on season 3 of both.

How is The Expanse?
been reading the books, pretty good popcorn fare but I'm afraid the show won't stack up.
You might be surprised.

Go with Stags. I haven't watched it yet. Waiting to binge a few
