5 May 1821 - Napoléon dies in the remote island of Saint Helena
5 May 2021 - Kickstarter Campaign of Napoléon 1815

History has written the story of Waterloo many different ways, but, in the end, it is always the same story.

This is your opportunity to write something different.

Napoléon 1815 is the third installment in The Conquerors, a series devoted to the great strategists of history. Following on from Napoléon 1806 and Napoléon 1807, Napoléon 1815 brings its own unique challenges to this well-tried and highly acclaimed campaign system.

For up to three players, assume the role of Napoleon, Wellington, or Blucher, making the key decisions that will determine the fate of Europe. As Napoleon, will you adopt your own version of his "strategy of the central position," driving a wedge between the enemy armies and then annihilating each of them in turn? Or perhaps you will choose a different course, or find that change is forced upon you?

Time is of the essence, for if the armies of Wellington and Blucher do join, the emperor's final throw of the dice is likely to end in defeat.
Napoléon 1815 is intended for both the seasoned grognard as well as eager young conscripts with a desire to understand how history is made. A simple but historically faithful set of rules means that all the key aspects of campaigning in the Napoleonic era are present for players to interact with. Both subtle bluff and the blunt application of massive force will have their place as events unfold.

The history books tell us that Waterloo itself was fought on an overcast day, June 18th, that had been preceded by a night of torrential rain. Denis Sauvage, born on a Waterloo anniversary nearly two hundred years later, has looked back to that other time, a time when armies gathered and the cannon thundered. This is a game he was destined to create. Telling a different story is now up to you. History has written the story of Waterloo many different ways, but, in the end, it is always the same story.

This is your opportunity to write something different.

Can you lead your men to victory?

Napoléon 1815 is the latest installment of the Conquerors Series using the same mechanisms from Napoléon 1806 and Napoléon 1807. Very well received by gamers, these tabletop wargames are for either young conscripts or seasoned grognards, thanks to progressive levels of difficulty in the rules.

Conscript: A person drafted or enlisted into the armed services.
Grognard: An old soldier, a term used for the Napoleon's original imperial guard.

It's time to do a little sum-up for the third day of this crowdfunding.

History will remember that the game was funded, the 5th of may, for the bicentenary of Napoléon's death.

4 SG have been unlocked :

1. Quickstart rules. To learn to play in 4 pages (2 for setup) and less than 5 minutes. These rules are the ones we used during conventions and allow to discover smoothly historical and strategical gaming.

2. 5 extra-cards for the 3-players mode. The text of some event cards changes slightly when playing at 2 or 3. So instead of having all the text in the same card we will have two different cards to increase readability.

3. Stickers for the reinforced positions. These markers will be customized thanks to the stickers. They represent the prepared defense set up by the Coalition in order to repel Napoléon's invasion of Belgium, and the famous fortified farms, where the napoleonic dream shattered.

4. Extra cloth bag. With Anglo-Allied colors this time.

And two new SG have been revealed.

The first one will see new markers with Prussian colors. The second will be a +10% bonus for authors on each game sold during this campaign. As without authors we wouldn't be able to propose games to you.

Time to speak a bit of the game mechanisms for those that never played a game in the Napoléon series. Cards are central to the system and thus Napoléon 1815 can be considered a card-driven game.

A card has different effects depending on when it is drawn or played:

It can be revealed during the initiative phase to indicate the initiative value.
It can be revealed during an operation to indicate the number of movement points of a stack.
It can be played from the player's hand as an event during the phase indicated by the card.
It can be revealed during combat to determine the outcome of a combat. Note : You can also use the Dice instead of revealing cards.
It can be played from the player's hand during the recovery phase to remove 1 or more fatigue from a corps.

Moreover, Napoléon 1815 sees the appearance of Invasion cards. They are used to follow the timing of the French invasion of Belgium.

As you can see these cards put some limitations on the Coalition operations. It is up to the French player to decide when and where he will strike in order to try to take a decisive advantage. It also allows to renew the course of each game as it is dependant of the French player choice.

And a reminder with the link of the KS page !

Napoléon 1815 will be fully playable at 2 players, like the other games in the series, Napoléon 1806 and Napoléon 1807. However, the situation and specificities of the 1815 campaign allow to add a 3-players variant.

In this case, the Coalition side will be split in two. One player will play the role of Wellington, and lead the Anglo-Allied troops. The other one will be Blücher and will take in charge the Prussian.

Each turn, during the Initiative phase, one of the Coalition player will be designated the "leader" of the Coalition for the turn. They will decide who will play between them and their partner at the beginning of each Coalition operation. This decision can be crucial, and difficult to take, as the two players can't normally communicate! This can lead to some enjoyable situation for the French who will have to take advantage of the lack of coordination that can arise between the two allies .

However, the Coalition players can communicate if :

1. Wellington and Blücher are in the same or adjacent areas.

2. One of them play the Aide-de-camp card.

In this case, they will be able to talk during the whole turn and exchange cards as well from their hands.

During the playtest session, the 3-players games were really fun and all the playtesters did enjoy the new dimension brought by these rules, and the new level of decision-making.

We really hope that you will also enjoy it!

We entered the last 48 hours and we have still some SG up!

To complete the Prussian set, we will add a cloth bag if we reach 55k€. That way the Prussian will have their wooden pieces, dice and bag!

And for this journey to be fully complete, we have a last SG in order to give even more to our authors.

So do not hesitate to share around to make this campaign even greater!

Thanks again for your support.

Dice are unlocked, so we will add 5 Prussian dice to the game. Moreover, the extra-dice set will have 15 dice instead of 10!

A few hours left, but it is still possible to unlock the last SG.

Hi all,

After a well deserved summer break, time for an update concerning the project.

1. Sample : We will receive a production sample by mid-september from the factory. This will allow us to check than everything is OK in order to launch the game in production. So we are really on schedule for a delivery by March 2022 as indicated during the campaign.

2. Production : Goal is to give a go to the factory by end of september. We received the files for the Japanese version of the game and are waiting for the Spanish translation that should arrive soon. Current production leadtime is around 2 months.

3. Delivery : As you may know we have lots of uncertainties currently concerning sea freight. For reference, a 40' container was $2000 last year (for N1807 Kickstarter delivery), and it is up to $15000 now. This is more than a significant increase, so we are trying to get a better insight of how it will evolve in the coming months. We will keep you updated on this specific point.

Last, you can still preoder the game on our website.

Hi all,

Time for an update concerning the project.

1. Sample : We received the production sample from the factory and it is just great. You will find below some pictures.

2. Production : The games are now in production. We received all the files from our partner and after checking the sample we were able to give a go to the factory. We are really on schedule for a delivery beginning of 2022.

3. Delivery : As you may know we have lots of uncertainties currently concerning sea freight. For reference, a 40' container was $2000 last year (for N1807 Kickstarter delivery), and it is up to $15000 now (and even more). This is more than a significant increase, and currently it is not possible to book a container. One thing we will do is to group ship the KS of Napoléon 1815 with Border States and Saladin in order to absorb part of these unexpected costs. It won't have any impact on Napoléon 1815 delivery.

Last, you can still benefit from a discount if you preorder games on our website :

Take care and stay safe!
