Let's be honest here.  They have to be since their pre-sale QA/QC is pretty horrendious which would have led them to failure long ago if not for the patch/expansion process they've developed for better or worse.

Me too. Note though that Zimoa recommends starting a game as the Entente. He hasn't stated why yet.

Judging by all the quality updates and DLC since it's release, I'm thinking it did very good for a semi-indie.
