I have to admit that all of those Magitech games (Takeda, Strength and Honour, etc...) always had great portraits of the characters.

Trouble is I'm pretty confused by their install. So I was using the 64bit beta game even though I had bought the 32bit game. So this update is what? A new install? A new purchase?

The release of the 64 bit beta. 

So we no longer have to worry about people not being able to use the beta because they ran out of fookeen beta keys.  >:(

Nope - uninstall 3.011 totally (along with Codemeter). 3.023 is a new install. If you have a 64-bit system, you can run SB in 32-bit or 64-bit.

I had bought a short term licence (a month I think) then I decided to buy into it and I think I bought a year licence. I hadn't activated the year licence because I was using the 64bit BETA and through the generosity of Asid...so I presume now I will have to use my new licence?

No

It is a new installer. It is 2.33GB

You uninstall the "old" install.

DO NOT UNINSTALL THE CODEMETER. A new version of CM will be installed with the 2.33 GB file.
