Terrible. Such a great talent, dancer, singer, even actress...and resilient, and tough. RIP.

I pass the exit to Flatbush every time I drive to Memphis on I40 (and back again). Never actually been there to say I've been there.

Honestly thought she had died earlier, but alas. One of the films I reviewed for our nearest radio station, where I served as practicum during college, was the biopic What's Love Got to Do With It starring Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne (and Turner herself in the final performance to end the movie.) A harsh story, but very well done: I can fully recommend it for anyone interested.
