Too early to really make any informed judgements other than that off-duty cop has to be an incredibly good shot.

Yeah, I've been following it.

The two men carrying assault rifles began shooting at a police car at the event in Garland, Texas, on Sunday. They were shot dead by an off-duty traffic officer with a pistol, Garland Police spokesman Joe Harn said at a news conference.

Event officials paid $10,000 for security at the event. The officer who fatally shot the two gunmen likely saved lives, Harn said. He wouldn't release the name of the officer, but said "his reaction, and his shooting with a pistol, he did a good job."

Because of the provocative nature of the cartoon event, a bomb squad, the FBI, a SWAT team and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were all in place at the event Sunday in case of any incidents, police revealed.

The two gunmen were killed after opening fire outside the contest venue and a bomb squad was called in to search their vehicle as a precaution, authorities said. No bombs were found.

I have to say...that sounds almost like an ambush set up by law enforcement.

These two holy warriors were clearly not the brightest. In their communications they could not spell mujahadeen. And well there's the whole attacking anything in Texas. Good riddance.
