Title: Horrified
Post by: airboy on June 03, 2020, 09:19:19 AM
Gave Horrified to my wife for her Birthday.

The premise is that old Universal studios monsters are attacking a village.  The heroes need to get the villagers to safety and find a way to defeat each monster.  Monsters are invulnerable until the secret behind their destruction (say the Mummy, Dracula, Invisible Man) or their neutering (Wolfman, Frankenstein & Bride of Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon) are discovered.  Too many villagers die and the Monsters win.  Take too much time, and the Monsters win.

This is a mass-market game and thus relatively inexpensive.  Components are not as high quality as a game costing 2x to 3x as much - but the game has pretty easy rules, is fun, and is advertised for 10+ - which means a smart 2nd Grader could join in.  The game has a quick set-up and does not take forever to play.

As normal for my wife games, this is a cooperative game of the players versus the monsters.

I'll try to give a follow-up after we have completed several games.

Is that a board game or a tabletop roleplaying game?

I thought we were talking about the death metal/grindcore album by Repulsion.  :(
