This could be boring, stupid, or fleeting, but it caught my eye as an interesting concept.

Looks pretty neat.  Wonder what the price point will be.  If it's like $5 I'll definitely pick it up and give it a whirl.  If it gets some steam, it'd be cool if people upload maps like Middle Earth and Westeros.

EDIT: According to the dev:

Quote......$7.99, 10% off for the first week $7.191 The prices for the vast majority of other regions are automatically calculated based on Steam's recommended prices.
A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

There's one like this that I forget the name that's on a smaller scale with orcs and elves and dwarves and you can add demons and undead and watch the plot unfold or interject and say give the elves 1000 more warriors and watch it play out - totally fascinating to watch - I'll keep my eye on this

It's called WorldBox God simulator. That's a neat one too.

That's the one - this looks a little more grown up

If I had the skills and knowledge I've always wanted to do a fantasy war game similar to WitP - that scale, those economics bit fantasy races and castles instead of bases - this looks the nearest to that
