OK...here is the first draft of my custom scenario mission briefing...

I'm really not a fan of the current system which requires the use of BBcode or XML coding. It isn't the most user friendly interface.

We started off by going over some of the new Warsaw Pact infantry graphics with some different uniforms and weapons and then we dove into a new OPERATION LAM SOM 719 scenario. This is scenario number 2, where we have ample helicopters, paratroopers and a mechanized force to try and advance deeper into Laos. Ah, the epitome of senseless violence indeed. There was a lot of good discussions and questions today, with ample tactical advice for playing!

Quote from: Tripoli on Yesterday at 12:02:52 PMOne way to raise the possibility of the Kilo being part of the scenario without committing to it is to include verbage a line in the scenario briefing similar to this:

The Kilo submarine was last imaged in the Bandar Abbas port facility on [a date 1-2 days before the scenario start]  or

The Kilo submarine was last imaged in the Bandar Abbas port facility on [a date 1-2 days before the scenario start].  All source analysis indicates the Kilo could be ready for sea in 24 hours.

I was going to be even more nasty about it by saying:

QuoteIRIN submarines are not anticipated to be a threat at this time. It is assessed as highly likely that the IRIN is attempting to procure midget and diesel-electric submarines, but assessed as highly unlikely that any are able to be deployed at this time.

If they show up in scenario, I want it to be a really unpleasant surprise. If the submarine shows up and catches the player totally off-guard, it will most likely be due to the player placing too much reliance on the accuracy of the intel and not maintaining proper ASW patrols. This should be a valuable lesson learned at possibly great cost.

The career modes are going to be a great addition and I think that was the biggest gripe of the xboxers, nothing to do in 2020 but sight see and challenges.  Putting some game into the sim will be interesting and draw more players.  The scenery upgrades are suppose to be really good.

Up for grabs today is Empyrion Galactic Survival.

This is one of the better survival/crafting games in my opinion.

Let me know if interested and I'll PM you the code for the modest price of FREE!

I am so, so  disgustingly excited for the career mode in this. It might finally scratch that itch that only SimCopter has managed to scratch.

This looks to remind me of the old Over the Reich/Actung Spitfire games from the 90s, which I loved. Can't wait to try it.

Played some more yesterday. Had fun. Some of the best computer turn-based air combat I've run into. But 3d interface took some time get used to...it is starting to click.

I did one fight with three Spits, vs. two Me-110s and two Me-109s.

The 109s were low and had to climb to the fight. So my three Spits went after the 110s.

Firing and aiming are still works in progress, or maybe I just don't understand the interface...  My guys sprayed the air with tracer rounds, barely hitting the enemy. Still, I managed to shoot down one Me-110. Damage models are detailed.

End result, one Spit down, one Spit broke off, one 110 down, the other 110 and 109s broke off.

I really want to see this game completed...more aircraft to fly...a complete campaign and bombers.

The Shamrock Spitfire. "Free" with Amazon Prime.

Liked it quite a bit. Not cheesy, some flying. Good flick.
