Trustworthy Torrent Sites

OK having failed to get the actual files for the NTW Khartoum mod, I am conceding defeat and am now looking for a trustworthy torrent site to get the files from. Anyone have torrents they recommend? All of the ones I have tried are hives of scum and villainy and have forced me to system restore ~7 times. Thanks all.

Would you like to see inside my OCD brain? The thing that annoys me is that the mod was downloadable normally not that long ago and I deleted my old install.

Have you tried posting over on the Total War Center forum for the mod?  Ask if someone could burn the mod to DVD and send it to you if a suitable download site can't be found?

I thought about that but I don't know anyone over there enough to trust. As far as I know none of our members here are activethere. And yes torremt sites are one step above shady porn sites....

I usually search with an aggregator and find a torrent site that has the most recent fresh hits (or a torrent which has the most hits and 'good' ratings).

7 system restores?  That's pretty weird. 
- What exact error do you get?
- Which A/V scan are you running on the files before and after extracting them?
- Are these issues happening after the install or at run time, (I mean after you run the game?).  I remember I used to have issues with Total War series and one of my graphics cards series.

To be honest, I've never downloaded mods much from torrents, usually sites have had their own file servers.  I wasn't aware it was that problematic.  Worst problem I had was a corruption in the downloaded file.  Then you again, you never know what content they furnish you with... I feel your pain as that looks like a cool mod!

Another reason I like running my older games from Windows in virtual machines, like Steel Panthers WaW.

Endfire every error I got was after I downloaded the client for the site. I have Norton and it read the files as.clean but then the torrent would hijack my browser and install all kinds of extraneous crap. So I just reverted.

I think some others had problems with the site they are using ('mediafire'), and a problem with the downloads self-installer (something called 'orient').

Yeah I didn't even get that far because media fire hijacked my computer. I am not asking for anyone to try and DL it for me, I am just asking to see if anyone actually has the mod files already. At one time they were available from TWCenter in a normal download.
