Gus and I will be firing up a Left 4 Dead 2 game in a few minutes. Y'all are welcome to join us.
If you haven't friended us on Steam yet, join the GrogHeads group on Steam and look for us. I'm LongBlade on Steam and shouldn't be too difficult to find in the group.
Sounds good

I have a game going and sent you an invite.
Took some screenshots tonight. Let's see if I can find a few that look OK.

Hope there will be another game going on tonight / afternoon. I've been playing solo but would like to get into a Grog game again. I know the time difference can be a bit of a bind.
Nice screenshots LongBlade 8)

I'd love to. This afternoon I've got a tabletop game scheduled. We'll see how things look after that.
It's such a nice game!
One of our favorites on our custom small scale LAN parties (Yeah, that means grown men hiding in a garage with their computers linked up and lots of beer and snacks for a whole weekend! ;) ).
If anyone is around 10pm EST tonight I would love to play. Seems I've found a new semi-addiction :)
The good thing about Left 4 dead is that they've added the "campaigns" from Left 4 dead 1 and then some. The guys from valve are always coming up with new stuff. The modding community appears to be active as well. It has a lot of replay value for sure.
^That, and that I got it for 4.99 :)
Lobby open for anyone who wants to jump into the game.
Will you be around at 10pm EST?
Not sure got a little work to do this evening. I try but no promises.
OK. If I don't pass out I'll swing by.
Grognards playing L4D??? Sweet. I look forward to zombie smashing with you guys. I know you guys already played but I look forward to playing with you in the future.

Welcome! Good to see you.
Best way to get a group together is to friend us on the GrogHeads Steam group. Then look for us online. There are eight or so of us (at least) with the game. Weekend nights are usually best for folks. We actually have a forum for finding friends, but I didn't use it when I started this thread. Sorry :)

It's amazing how far can Grognards go... ;D
Well - LB with a samuri sword is kinda --- awesome. A one-man zeke killin' machine.

Bob and I made it to within one fuel tank of winning Dead Center tonight then got horde bombed and gave up.
Besides, it's about dinner time and then we've election returns to watch.

I think Oche tries to go through the entire level using nothing but melee weapons. I was having fun - I don't normally do that. Try to hook up with Oche - that's SOP for him.
What difficulty do you usually play?

Depends on who I'm with.
If I'm LFG and solo I usually go for the highest. If you can find a crack group it's a hoot.
Playing with some of the guys here who aren't used to it, I've found we play on easiest. That's not a knock on them, but playing at higher levels takes a group that is paying close attention to where the areas are that trigger hordes, stick together tightly, and exercise a high level of situational awareness. It takes time to learn how to play at those levels, and they'll need to play for a bit before they get up there.
Ya know what we ought to do? A four on four game with survivors vs zombies. That sounds like fun :)

Thing is i hate running low on ammo, specially when a Tank pops up when you least expect so i tend to go melee frenzy but it has the disadvantage of making you prone to be a target to special infected zombies (i hate jockeys). ;D
Bob and I making a last stand...

Players can play as zombies?

Players can play as zombies?
Yes, it's called Versus. There is also a Realims Versus - I'm not familiar with that.
A word to the wise - Versus mode is something we should play as a community. The guys who play it regularly are as hard core as you get and if you mess something up, they are rather unforgiving.
The good news? We can get eight guys on a server. As the zombies you play one of the special infected.
Like the guys here are easy-peasy?

I should be free later this evening. For some reason Bob and I had trouble using the voice comms in-game, which made it doubly difficult for us to coordinate.
At several points I found myself alone on the third floor of the last level trying to toss fuel canisters to him and got rushed by the horde. The AI bots decided to hang with him instead of me so, of course, I was out there alone.
It really stunk because the best way to tackle that level is to split into groups of two, with two hunting up the fuel and two guarding the car. Sending four off on the task slows the game. In the end we got worn down, used all our med kits, and got bum rushed.
It was still a lot of fun, but frustrating because the AI couldn't handle the task.
What time was that? I looked in from 6-10 pm PST but didn't see anyone playing.
I'm going to move this to the Ally/Opponent Finder thread.

I'm pretty sure I looked to see if you were online and didn't find you.
We were gaming about 1630 Eastern time.
Ah. I was at the matinee then.
I'll be on around 8.30pm UK time :)

I'm about to pull your PC and let you game on a console. No geography? You
are a wargamer, right?
Do GI Joes or Hungry Hungry Hippos count?
Hungry Hippos combines FPS reflexes with Grand Strategy complexity.
Can I get that marble, or should I wait for the next? Or will I lose both?
It's kinda like Poland in 1939. But with hungry hippos.
What's a Poland?
Awful lot of immigrants in it...
