It definitely has limitations, but it is a generational leap in China's carrier capability and the next hull will be nuclear powered.

on paper its better then what theyve had so far but still a far cry from a US carrier.
more importantly Im still not convinced that the chinese have the experience or expertise to conduct long term blue water carrier operations.

According to the video, that's not their intended use for this ship. It's defensive to protect their assets close-in, the 'First Island Chain' region. For that it looks more than capable especially as more are on the way.  :hide:  I'm wondering why their ships and planes look so much like ours? Can't they steal tech more original-looking?

If I remember correctly doesn't this new one use more modernized deck catapult technology too?
