Wow....totally snuck up on me...starts tomorrow
Can't wait!!!
Top of the DVR list.
Can't wait!!
Got to see what happens with Floki and Ragnar.
Kind of confusing but lots of killing so I'm OK with it. :buck2:
Will catch it online...could not make it to 10pm EST :/
Wifey in the mood again? :smitten:
^If only. I was just too tired to make it.
Am I the only one who lost interest during the last season?
Not sure if I even finished the last episode or two, even.
Dunno if it's the historical & timeline side of things meandering off into fantasy which made me lose interest, or just getting rather stale to me. *shrug*
I'm finding I almost can't stand to watch anything in real-time anymore, the damned commercials kill me. I miss fast-forwarding through them. I am becoming a DVR addict.
QuoteDunno if it's the historical & timeline side of things meandering off into fantasy which made me lose interest
The show was pure fantasy from the very beginning... ::)
I enjoyed it more as time went on. Different strokes, etc.
I enjoyed it more when Lagatha was naked a lot.
^Well duh
At last! A decent Viking-on-Frank fight! I was beginning to think the Vikes had gone all Greenpeace on us.
I have been enjoying this season so far. Last week's cliffhanger left my loins moist. I knew this week's episode woukd be good! Need to find time to watch it :/
Vikings is a great show. Now sure I can take much more of the Chinese drug lady and Ragnar's "trips" :crazy2:..........otherwise a great take.
Yeah it's down right weird at times. Maybe this whole season will turn out to be a Ragnor Drug Hallucination.
Very good show last night. The battle was nicely staged.
^Should I watch it right now? I have some alone time that I was going to dedicate to 1. Beer; 2. The Viking Age mod for Attila Total War.
#1 is taken care of...#2 I am flexible if you guys say I should watch the episode right now.
Should put you right in the mood for some hot Viking action Gus.
Haven't watched it yet...still getting over my nerd rage from The Walking Dead finale last night :/
A little House-Cleaning this episode. Goodbye to the fallen and 'Hello' to a creepy, crazy Ragnor.

He definitely was acting weird yesterday. The actor is playing it well with his facial twitches and somewhat dazed expression most of the time.
Dammit I am now two episodes behind...
Guess I know what to catch up on tonight...
Makes me wonder how many seasons until the encounter with the Ormgard, after which the Great Army brings the Danelaw and changes England for ever.
^In my current Age of Vikings campaign the Danelaw is not to be trifled with. You should play that mod.
Drug addiction..and now has no more and about to batter a few French men. Wonder how he will fair in combat whilst withdrawing. The worse cold turkey I reckon anyone has gone through..Then there is old miracle dick ploughing his way through the women left behind..curing them of their ills with his god like todger..

Lagertha has his cure for withdrawals. And she's keeping it in a safe place.
Daaaammmn! That Chinese shit makes you cough-up spiders! They need to cut that some more. I can't wait for Ragnor to get to Paris and see everybody there running around as giant Cockroaches. :o
Another good episode! One more to go before it returns in September with the other ten episodes.
I also watched "Real Vikings" afterwards with Clive Standen ("Rollo"). Interesting that they showed the real Rollo's tomb at the Cathedral of Rouen. Even Standen was a bit moved by it.
By the way, "Vikings" has been renewed for season 5 with another 20 episodes and Jonathan Rhys Meyers who played Henry VIII in the excellent "The Tudors" series written again by "Vikings" writer Michael Hirst joins the cast.
Damn. I knew I should've watched that.
Decent mid season finale last night...I like the fact there will be 10 more episodes in the fall.
Although, not sure why all those other ships stood around and did nothing to help out in the battle besides the one platform ship:)
Yeah, good show but I don't really buy that fist fight scene-- kind of silly. And then Ragnor does a Luke Skywalker for a decade so all his kids can grow-up. But I'm in for another season.

Cool thing this year, we don't have to wait until another season.....they created a 2-part season this year, 10 episodes each. We get to resume sometime in the fall versus wait another year....I like that kind of schedule!
Not sure how I feel about our rapid fast forward in history after the battle, but we'll see how it plays out

Thanks be to the all powerful that Ragnar finally ran out of that Chinese stuff.........I was beginning to hallucinate just watching him hallucinate.... :crazy2:
Just watched the finale, it was great.
WHO WANTS TO BE KING
Not me. He hasn't got laid in about 15 years now. I'm not sure if the Chinese girl was real or a Sex-lucination.

Yes....I like where this is going.......

He still is the big draw of the show. He plays wacky-fruity so well.
I miss my Vikings so much.... :'(
Do you watch Game of Thrones?
I don't have HBO but even when I did I never could get into it very much. Just watched it for the boobies. Starz I think, had a new Spartacus series on for about 3 seasons some years back and it was..... filllthayyyyy. But surprisingly well done. I remember the actor who starred in it died after the first season(in real life I mean) and they had to re-do the whole plot for season 2. It got toned down in season 3 and wasn't nearly as good. Even Vikings has been neutered a bit.
You say that like the bewbs aren't enough.
I have Spartacus in my Netflix queue but have to find the time of course.
Maybe there'll be a "Rollo" spin-off.
Finally got around to watching the last few episodes. Good stuff! I like how princess cheekbones has become an embittered lush. I can relate.
Looks like they're moving on from Ragnar and on to Ivar. I wonder if Ragnar will be relegated to the background.
Never!
WHO WANTS TO BE KING??
I do, but I don't want Ragnor's axe in my skull and his foot in my ass.
You can't have one without the other.
I've noticed that in Viking Political Order, the guy next to the King isn't too safe either.
Hot viking women with large boobs are pretty safe.
Chinese chicks, not so much...
(They should have made her character a native from the east coast of N. America instead of Chinese. That stretched credulity a bit too much IMO)
Yeah I thought at first she would be an Indian and Ragnor would be off to America. I guess Ragnor's seven year stint in rehab didn't warrant a part in the show.
Viking rehab - ax to the cranium?
It could be all the tattoo ink causing irrational behavior too.
Trailer for the second half starting in the fall: Vikings season 4 returns (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3DwTh_aPKw)
HOT DAMN!!! Get some Ragnor! Who wants to be King? O0
Ragnor returns November 30th! Quick, hide the children and Silverware!
And all the hawt red headed womenz!
Second half of the season starts tonight. Looking forward to it.
Oh Yes! Blood will flow. Why don't we have a 'Viking' emote?
Excellent!
Totally forgot about this...
What the hell? A whole hour of Vikings NOT killing anybody? Have they gone all Greenpeace on us?
Was the episode worth watching?
Quote from: Gusington on December 01, 2016, 10:54:37 AM
Was the episode worth watching?
It was basically a setup episode and no action. Family squabbles, more about the Ivar the Boneless character and also Ragnar doing something interesting on a horse is all I want to give away.
Yeah, looks like Ragnor's sons do more screwing than war-ing. Of course he got in quite a bit of screwing too but at least he didn't let it interfere with his war-ing. :P
FINALLY.... Some Viking chopping, hacking, stabbing action. SKAOL!
I'm all caught up. I and The Wife enjoy it. I also bought the CDs of the show's music from the first three seasons over at Amazon today. Cost 19.00 total for the three :)
The 'Real Vikings' show that follows it is pretty good too. It shows that the program is not totally made-up but has elements of actual Viking history in it.
I was close to watching that on Wednesday but couldn't sit anymore after watching two hours of it in a row. It was the Viking Women episode. Plus The Wife was in the room and that kind of takes away from he whole hawt viking womenz experience.
That's why I wait for mine to go to bed first before I watch it. Also I don't want her to start shouting for 'Rollo' at 'Peak' times. :-"
Ouch - that would definitely ruin the moment if I had any moments.
This show is really trying hard. To do what I'm not sure, but they sure are trying hard to do it. So...
I really enjoyed last night's episode. I have to watch it again because I was dead tired but the drunken conversation between Ragnar and the King of Wessex was great.
Poor princess cheekbones....
Great after-the-show show detailing the historical connection to the sons of Ragnor. Makes a little more sense of what's happening in the program.

What's the name of that show? I watch everything on Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime so I'll have to find it separately.
"Real Vikings".
Thanks. I'll have to watch it to see how the show writers decided to incorporate legend and history into the scripts, using artistic license.
[JasonPratt] Perhaps it's best to think of the show as a sort of fantasy not beholden to actual history. A lot of what is used as story material for the Vikings series seems a bit compressed time-wise. For example, the series of attacks on Paris actually occurred over the span of half a century but the tv show makes it seem as if they were only a few years apart. Also, Rollo and Harald Fairhair should be much younger than shown in the series unless the last attack on Paris really does happen many decades later; and 'Count Odo' wasn't executed in the palace dungeon at the Emperor's behest, but lived on to eventually be elevated to king when Emperor Charles 'the Fat' was overthrown. Charles himself looks pretty fit rather than fat. [/JasonPratt]
(j/k Jason. Couldn't resist :) )
OK, ok, ok. While the last 2 episodes have been very un-Vikings-like, they were done very well I will give them that. And while I won't spoil anything, I've got to say along with all the other bad news recently, I'm bummed. I feel like I'm losing all my old, best friends. :-\

Yeah, tough episode....did not expect it so soon:(
GODDAMMIT!!!!
Time for a Reality Check. You Brits tell me, are there that many snakes in Britain? :nerd:
My Irish aunt tells me there are none in Ireland.
I have not seen the episode yet but I can take a very good guess as to what you are talking about.
It broke my heart.
2016 really does suck!
:'(
I thought it was sad when Ivar couldn't get it up too. :'(
I don't know what he was expecting...he can't walk, so it's not like he's going to be hopping around on his member like a pogo stick.
Yes, with a name like, "Boneless", he'd have figured that out by now. He really needs to see a Seer.
^HAHAHA!!
Having watched the latest episode my prediction for season 5 is:
There will be blood eagles
That is a solid prediction.
Is that a Punk Rock Band? Because Vikings would make great Punk Rockers. \m/

Not to mention inspiring the already countless Viking-themed Scandinavian black metal bands.
Poor Ragnor. That would be my luck if I were a Viking. I sail all the way to Britain to get away from my wife who's a witch and cheated on me with a God, I die at the hands of my enemies and earn my way into Vahalla, and she's already there ahead of me. How do you say, 'Dammit' in Norse? #:-)

Which Lothbrook kid is that?
All of them.
Great last speech!
If it'd been Marvel, they would have dropped him mid-speech. :DD
QuoteHow the little piggies will grunt when they hear how the old boar suffered
According to the legends it was these words that birthed the Great Heathen Army, and in the end things did not go well at all for King Ælla of Northumbria.
I think the Brits better get some more vipers ready because they're going to be up to their armpits in Vikings soon.
Hells yeah! Missed it last night but will catch it again on demand tomorrow.
Hello Northumbria? You're going to need a new King. Why is no one answering in Northumbria? :buck2: :buck2: :buck2:
My God that was some f*cked up medieval Scandinavian Hannibal Lechter stuff right there... :buck2:
Who says fat men can't fly? :hide:
Another season 'hacked-away'. Time goes so fast when you're having fun. See you bunch of Fun-Loving Mass Murderers next season.
I still have to watch the finale.
Say 'goodbye' to......... :-X
Hollywood?
No, Brotherly Comrade-Hood actually. Don't 'axe' me no more.
Vikings season 5 trailer: Season 5 trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6aiyOGbzFk)
Thanks for posting. Looks like they're upping the 'crazy' quotient to the series.
Season 5 premiers tonight! So get your axes and horny helmets ready Grogs.
I was told I had to stop wearing my horny helmet.
When you see Lagathur, you'll put it back on. ^-^
I never take mine off.
Looking forward to the new season.
There is a special episode of Vikings just before the two hour premiere: "Vikings: The Saga of Lagertha"
"However, a one-hour special is expected to remind fans which character is the most important in the show. History has confirmed that an episode titled "The Saga of Lagertha" will feature Katheryn Winnick as the shieldmaiden who overcame all obstacles to become the new Queen of Kattegat."
https://www.inquisitr.com/4652217/katheryn-winnick-stars-in-the-saga-of-lagertha-prior-to-vikings-season-5-two-hour-premiere-spoilers/ (https://www.inquisitr.com/4652217/katheryn-winnick-stars-in-the-saga-of-lagertha-prior-to-vikings-season-5-two-hour-premiere-spoilers/)
And, unless I'm mistaken, there are 2 new episodes tonight. Check your local listings. :coolsmiley:
The actual premiere at 9pm EST is 2 hours long.
Off to a good start I'd say. Lots of blood, murder, hot Viking women. Check, check, check. O0
You were right, Slash...2nd episode aired after the two hour premiere! Madness. I could not stay awake for that third hour. Will have to catch it on demand before next Wednesday.
Dammit! Then I missed it! I thought I saw the 11pm show as a repeat of the two hour premier. I feel like I been hit by a battle ax now. :pullhair:
I am sorry. But it should be viewable on demand now.
I don't know why they put a 2nd new episode on right after a two hour premiere...ain't no one got time for that!
Not your fault at all Gus. I looked at the listings and could swear the 11pm episode was the same one that has just played at 9pm. Which is what they usually do in every other show. >:( Damned sneaky Vikings.
I know! I had to read my cable guide multiple times but there it was - Season 5, Episode 2!
Dammit! I bet that one was the one Lagutha and Torvi did the naked mud-wrestling scene. My luck. #:-)
Checked the History site before and the premiere is available to view but the 2nd episode that I thought I saw was not...so maybe I'm wrong? I could swear, though...
The Alien Overlords must not want us to see it. Yet. :o
There wasn't a second episode after the two hour premiere on History Television Canada.
They just played the special flashback episode "Vikings: The Saga of Lagertha" which is not part of season 5 before and after the two hour premiere.
"The Seer takes us through Lagertha's epic story in the previous 4 seasons, telling everything there is to know about the formidable warrior, fearless leader, and legendary shieldmaiden. "
They forgot, " Famously De-Baller of Men" to that list.
So...there was no second episode here in 'Murica either? I am flummoxed.
Better than being 'blood-eagled'.
*shudder*
Vikings returns November 28th and a new trailer: Vikings season 5B trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLOa9s1q_Ug)
"Season 5B returns on November 28 after leaving off during a time of great unrest with the arrival of a familiar face and well-loved character: Duke Rollo (Clive Standen). This is sure to cause quite the commotion in Kattegat, which is still dealing with Ivar the Boneless becoming its King.
New allies Bjorn, Lagertha and Bishop Heahmund flee their adversaries and Ivar's reign ushers in a new dark age, the likes of which have never been seen before. Lagertha is unstable, and reeling from losing her place as the fierce Viking Queen, but is hopeful that she will not stay down for long.
The reign of Ivar is not safe, however, and is sure to be challenged by his brothers and old enemies. While kin battle and kingdoms are overthrown, Floki is in Iceland dealing with his own battles. The new settlement is not without its challenges, especially when the land itself rears up to fight against you."

Looks good. Thanks for the heads-up. O0
Nice.
I forgot how much I hated Ivar the Boneless.
Yes, if they would've thrown him in the snake-filled pit with Ragnor, the snakes would have died from biting him.
He does make the show pretty addictive, though.
Iv-want Ivar to go I-vay. :knuppel2:
In the tradition of Game of Thrones, everyone is a target on this show.
Returns on November 28th: Vikings season 5B trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vlsiynEJQE)
Looking forward to it.
Yeah, I saw that. Coincidently, that's about the same time the Minnesota Vikings season will end. #:-)
I don't think that's a coincidence.
Looking forward to this new season!
New Season starts TONIGHT! Better get your Battle Axes ready. :bd:
Actually two new episodes tonight. The first one seems to be a one-off episode followed by the season opener.
I see the listing for 8pm for The Saga of Bjorn - IIRC they have had odd one-off 'bonus episodes' before...
Shield Wall!!!
That one off episode was a recap of what has happened already in the first half of this season. Comes in handy but it's really just a highlight reel. In the meantime there's a lot of Rollo in tonight's newest episode...and Old Lagurtha!!
She's still pretty hot. I guess white is the new blond. As long as the drapes match the carpet, I'm fine with it.
Episode was interesting enough for me to stay awake for almost the whole thing. Needed more blood eagle.
I liked it, but who am I kidding, I'd like anything with Vikings and axes. Why doesn't anyone take a page from their Old Man, Ragnor, and challenge Ivar to a one-on-one? That'd be a 'Pay-per-View' worthy event.
I hate Ivar.
He's 'bone-less' but not spine-less that's for sure.
New Season starts tomorrow night-- 2 hour premier with an hour long preview at 8pm EST. I believe this will be the final season. :'(
Looking forward to it. The premier, that is. Not that it's the final season.
The trailers make it appear that the show has switched settings from England to Russia...or am I imagining that?
I got the same impression.
Since we are both probably insane at this point, that probably doesn't help either one of us. We need a stable test subject!
...but if the show is indeed switching settings to Russia, that makes my loins moist.
Find out tonight. :D
I have gaming to do!!
There ARE commercials you know. :coolsmiley:
The Loins have been moistened Gus. First episode-- OK. Nothing special, needs more hot Viking Babes maybe.
Worth watching? I was planning on catching it this weekend.
Yes.
Wurd.
Season 6 part 2 trailer: Vikings season 6 part 2 (or b) trailer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdzAgpS71Mw)
A kind of spoiler near the midpoint of the trailer for those who didn't see the end of season 6 part 1 in February.
I thought the show was over permanently. :idiot2: I honestly don't know where they're going with it anymore. Which means I'll be watching anyway. Thanks for the heads-up Wally.
