Title: Netflix Movie the Dig
Post by: z1812 on February 17, 2021, 09:10:37 AM
A very entertaining, and beautifully filmed movie about an amatuer archaeologist who excavates an ancient Anglo-Saxon burial mound.

The best moment is when that sailboat comes through and our exacavator is there drinking it all in.  Though his bike-riding and ferry-boating and explaining things to the Sci-Fi kid are nice as well.

+1

The "Sutton Hoo" treasure is probably the most important Anglo-Saxon archeological find ever. After watching the movie, I just had to get more and went off on a frenzy of side reading and YouTube videos.

"The Dig" is well worth your time, even if you are only nominally interested in archeology.
