Mortal Kombat (2021) - Official Red Band Trailer
« on: February 18, 2021, 10:09:28 PM »

With an R rating, if you can believe it.  Maybe this one won't suck?
It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.
- Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

While the trailer doesn't look terrible...for some reason I'm getting a new Fantastic Four vibe off of it. And that movie was a gas soaked dumpster fire.

What kills me is them trying to make a movie based on a game IP that had almost no plot. That said, there's not really been a good video game movie, regardless of IP.

Fingers crossed for the Uncharted movie though.
Insert witty comment here.

That does look pretty good. It makes me want to start feeding quarters into my computer screen.  :bd:
