I'm thinking about a subscription. Anyone have any experience with them online? I read a couple of reviews that were overall positive but also said that content can be uneven. Dunno, but watching the Avengers twice this month has me wanting to get my Marvel on.

Buy paper.  It makes for better reading material on the crapper.

I haven't bought any Marvel comics, but I have bought a couple of others for my Kindle. The images are great. The interface took some getting used to.

I kept thinking that maybe a paper comic might be worth something some day, but then again, the convenience of having a comic at my fingers in the kindle is kinda nice.

So I'm still on the fence. It's got pros and cons. Maybe buy a couple digital copies and see if you like them - then decide.

The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

The first couple I've seen, I've liked. Now keep in mind that I am a voracious reader who is still having trouble making the move to a kindle vs. having paper in my hand. But it seems like a good vehicle for comics, especially with a large monitor. I think I'm in.

For me the Marvel Digital Comics subscription is the only way to read comics. Paper is fine, but when I see todays comic prizes then I find it's not worth it - not enough content for far too much money. I have a year online access now for thousands of Marvel comics which I can read whenever I want, on my notebook wherever I want. True, I don't own them but to read endless comics in high quality now costs me just about 3 € a month!

I'll check these out.

So far, I only knew of Comixology, who unfortunately don't support PayPal and buying via Amazon for the Kindle format (which my android devices got an app for).

Steelie, did you get a subscription?

I did. I'm enjoying it so far, there is quite a lot of content and the comics look great on my big screen. The only negative I've found is that I'm having a bit of difficulty with finding what I want, because it's easy to cross over from looking at digital comics to paper versions and the paper versions might not be digitized yet. So I find a cool comic I want to read and it's paper. Of course, some of this might be operator error on my part. Yeah...could be.  8)

The only other negative is that they are hard to read in the bathroom. But you know, the same could be said of porn mags vs internet porn. Or so Gus tells me.

All and all, I'm happy with my purchase.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm tempted to try a digital subscription. With all the recent comics-based movies, I'm wanting to get back into reading comics.

I expect that hardcore collectors get both a paper and digital copy - the paper copy for bagging and archiving in the collection and the digital version for reading.

Does this work through an iPad or Kindle app?  How does that work?
