That was quite a peek. Why do I sense we're at least a year away.

The Burden of Command team just posted on YouTube about the hundreds of black and white images they are colorizing for the game. They said "I’m still struggling to believe its that many, but our images spreadsheet goes that far down....  certainly 700ish and after awhile who’s counting LOL."

We are now 709 days since Brad posted his comment, quoted above.  But after 700, who is still counting....

The Burden of Command (BoC)team  continues to make steady progress towards release.  While we don't have a release date yet, the project is sufficiently far along that project lead Luke Hughes gave one presentation and sat on one panel at the "Connections-2021" conference.  The videos of his presentation are here:

https://youtu.be/i4v1yKAD63s
https://youtu.be/wbq7e19wBeQ

For those who are unfamiliar, Connections is an annual conference "to advance and preserve the art, science, and application of wargaming.  The conference works each year to facilitate a useful exchange information on achievements, best practices and needs of all elements of the field of wargaming, from military, to commercial, to academic applications."  This year's conference was hosted by the CGSC at Ft. Leavenworth.   The fact that BoC presented at a professional conference such as this shows that the project continues to advance while generating considerable interest among the professional, as well as hobby wargame community.

Hi Michael!

Always good to hear from you.

In answer to your comment/question on the Wargaming Connections conference:
-- views -it was a small professional wargaming conference but happily our views seem to have been at the high end of judging from link below. Which is encouraging:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCi-VDxtAFGeVVtvQb-DLA5w/videos

-- questions - it was live and had questions then. I presume link was posted afterwards. Some of the questions can be seen at bottom of screen near end. There was also a link to the Discord in the chat area on YT but it doesn't seem to be live any more :-(

And thanks again for your early help and expertise on Burden. I also remember fondly reading your "Scenario Designer's Handbook" early on. How are things in your neck of the woods? I'm impressed to see you've been published yet again this year with "Indescribable Ordeal: The History of the German 65th Infantry Division 1942-1945 ."  Hope to get to a German campaign someday.

Thanks! It was an interesting conference to attend. Just hope next time it is physical not virtual and can spend more time with these folks. Fun fact for today... did you know the US Army has a Warhammer 40k Team (helps in recruiting apparently). I kid you not. Different times.

Thanks Sir Slash!
Of course in some sense every tactical boardgame does this in so far as ties “break” etc to Morale Checks. So if anything catching up with them LOL.

However, we do tie in an evolving way to xp and leadership gain in Trust. Also even Undaunted elite troops still suffer some suppress (“heads down”).
And for green troops they basically just take suppression without MC so that keeps the game flowing
