By the Third Macedonian War, the Macedonians could beat up the Romans pretty often, but the Romans just plain knew how to deal with all kinds of things so ...after a rough start, they cornered the main Macedonian army near Mount Olympus and brought in the fleet and over 20 elephants to finish off the Macedonians once and for all at Pydna. I'm simulating this with the Macedonians as the Macedonians and the Persians as the Romans (with elephants and the Immortals as the two 2nd-rate legions involved).
