I'm hearing that there are quite a few bugs but Larian should be squashing them pretty quickly

This game delivers on the junk customization.  That's for sure!

In all seriousness, game is absolutely excellent.  I'm early on but this already feels like one of the best CRPGs I've ever played, and it really nails the wacky antics you can get into in a DND session (though you can play the game more seriously as well)
A War of a Madman's Making - a text-based war planning and political survival RPG

It makes no difference what men think of war, said the judge.  War endures.  As well ask men what they think of stone.  War was always here.  Before man was, war waited for him.  The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner.  That is the way it was and will be.  That way and not some other way.

If they made nothing but WWII games, I'd be perfectly content.  Hypothetical matchups from alternate history 1980s, asymmetrical US-bashes-some-3rd world guerillas, or minor wars between Upper Bumblescum and outer Kaboomistan hold no appeal for me.

I guess it's sort of nice that the word "tactical" seems to refer to some kind of seriousness during your moments of mental clarity.

Won't be able to really play until the weekend, but I did see they excluded the ability to multi-class (allowing for more than one class on your character) from the exploratory difficulty setting, which is the easiest mode.  In these games I typically play the easiest because I am just not great at them, plus hearing BG3 can be difficult on the other modes.  Not sure if this is a big deal or not, but just a shame when features are removed under certain conditions or hidden behind unlocks.

Gusington

^Thanks for posting that. I've had my ass kicked in Larian's Divinity games, so maybe I should take heed of what you posted and go for the 'exploratory' setting.

A strong bet that I will be playing on that mode:)  But before I start, I want to do more research on how much I would miss by not having multi-classes as an option and whether there are any other limitations besides being easier.

Gusington

I don't think I have played anything on the easiest mode just out of sheer shame  :embarrassed:

Someone posted on the main Larian forums (which my account has been deactivated, not sure why) that you can switch between difficulty settings so you can multi class on the easier level. Sorry, that's vague, but since I can't log onto their forums that's the best I can do.

Great if you can, but would need to find the details as I haven't come across it yet.  Appreciate the heads up.

Also, it looks like the Larian website is pretty taxed so a lot of people cannot log onto their forums (hence the account deactivated message)

Yea, I'm not sure why I'm holding off buying this. It's not going to be discounted for many many months and while there are some bugs/performance issues, I'm not sure they are game breaking. Something just nagging me about buying it right now  :uglystupid2:
