Thought I would start a list of the more obscure ones.

Been reading a lot of John Scalzi lately his Old Man War and and Androids Dream.  Just finished Redshirts which is a great take on those poor saps that get sent on away missions.

One of the more obscure ones but it is a great gem of a read is Illegal Aliens by Nick Pollotta.  Well worth a quick read.  Its old from the 1980's but amazingly funny and one I keep re reading.

Not sure if it's considered obscure or mainstream, but I read The Callahan Chronicles for the first time a week or two ago.  Definitely good stuff.

Another great series is the Chronicles of Space Captain Smith by Toby Frost.

Think Flashman set in a steam punk future where great British pluck battle heroically against Nazi Ants and Giant suicidal lemmings.

Bill the Galactic Hero or just about anything by Harrison.
Remember the "the Bloater Drive" for FTL travel? And "Bowb"?

A Klassik.

^^  Yeah, I love that one too.  I've actually been keeping my eye out for a copy the last year or so (preferably one that doesn't cost a zillion dollars).

illegal aliens and cowboy fengs.... man its been a long time.  great books!
Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

Banzai Cat - There is no "partial credit" in grammar. Like anal sex. It's either in, or it's not.

Mirth - We learned long ago that they key isn't to outrun Star, it's to outrun Gus.

Martok - I don't know if it's possible to have an "anti-boner"...but I now have one.

Gus - Celery is vile and has no reason to exist. Like underwear on Star.
