Wargamers,

I just ordered these with the hope they will illustrate useful tactics for pc wargame play.

I'm going to use the Osprey WW2 tactics 96pp books too, but collectively they are quite expense.

The above CD set has a comprehensive search index. I don't care too much about switching CD's to find data. May install them on a
large hard drive.

I found several of the Army field manuals books a few months ago at a thrift store...one was on Outdoor Survival and the other was on First Aid. They are quite nice. Again, buying them online (in book form) can get quite expensive and I don't like dowloading too much.

Do any of you have this CD set? If so, should I now call you General because of your brilliant intelligence gleaned from the manuals. I'm aware the manuals are 2008 and the tactics used might be quite different than for WW2.

I have got a heap of those things floating around.  Just like my University text books and trade manuals.
My house is like Minecraft made out of books and games.  Maybe there's some garbage turned to coal
down in the bottom.  I do like to read over the instructions about what to do when a LAW misfires
from time to time.  It makes me feel better about driving in traffic.

Longdan, thanks for posting. That's a good one...Minecraft house made of books. I'm a former librarian and record specialist so I likely keep books, whether useful to me or not, for far too long. I hated to weed books at the library and the same at home. However, I bought a ton of books at thrift stores and used to sell on Amazon and ebay (not anymore). The ones not sold were given to friends and family as gifts or returned to charity. I still have too many.

I recently purchased some awesome large atlas and reference type books on WW2 on weapons, aircraft, ships, armored and non-armored vehicles, artillery. The weapons book has great imagery showing range and power...especially nice for using artillery pieces. I know the kindle, tablets, smart phones, laptops are used for reading but I still prefer to have a nice solid and wonderful smelling book in my paws.

Yeah.  My ex-wife pilfered my stock when she left and lied about the ones she took.  Drove me nuts re-acquiring them and then
finding out from the kids they were in her bookshelves.  "Musta forgot," she said with that look.  Like she wanted a manual
on river crossing operations.

Longdan, yes, absolutely correct. When there are divorces or separations reduction of property, including books, does occur big time. It's too bad you are without all your military ones. Not much good to her except if she plans on assaulting your compund. Be prepared and take defensive measures immediately. Remember Pearl Harbor. Start filling sandbags and use discarded books for bunkers.

Heh.   She only stole a few.  It just made me mad that she said she didn't have them when she did.
I have recovered the ones I needed.  It wasn't that bad.  My vengence took the form of my last girlfriend.
Who was in the 'No wonder he moved on." category.  We can't all win all the time.  You just want to win
the important ones.   ;D
