The gallery also underscores the confusion in calling something a battleship, battlecruiser, heavy cruiser, and 'pocket battleship'. Depending on what year and any refits, as well as who is doing the naming, a ship could change designation from one to another.

Nice find!!  I could look at those for hours.  Is the Japanese BB color shot an actualy color photo from period, or retouched after the war?  Not many of those.

@Staggerwing:  Yes I find it confusing.  The 30's had some pretty unique weight class restictions and workarounds. 

it's confusing even with silhouettes.  Have to get down the spec sheet.
