Incidentally, the Jesus = Zombie meme is not only Older Than Feudalism (by a wide margin), but also a canonical discussion -- a key part of one of St. Paul's epistles is directly aimed at opponents who were mocking the idea of the general resurrection to come by painting it in what we would call 'zombie' colors. :)

i.e., the summary of 1 Corinthians 15 is something like, "No, for God's sake, we aren't going to be zombies, and neither was Jesus, that isn't the hope for the future we're preaching, you guys already know this so stop listening to those cretins trying to troll you!"
