Post by: WYBaugh on January 19, 2023, 09:12:31 AM
Searched and didn't see this mentioned on the site.  Early access but has good ratings on Steam:

QuoteCommand an army of various unit types and classes through a hostile island world. Experience tactically challenging turn-based strategy action and train your army to become powerful followers. Meet a dark and possessed enemy and fight fervently until the snake's head is at your feet!

This really looks great. The funny thing is I just bought Masters of Magic this weekend. So After I work through that game I have something else to look forward to  :azn: Maybe by then we will have some Groghead reviews of the game

I've been following this one for a while.  I might have even Wishlisted it to give the Devs some tailwind on Steam.  I've seen a number of Fantasy TBS strategy games over the last 5 years that sound really revolutionary and cool in Early Access, but either never come to fruition or end up playing just like the last 5 versions of Fantasy General that I've seen.

I enjoyed and/or have been intrigued by games like Battle Brothers, Symphony of War, Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark, or The Last Regiment.  I've purchased some of those titles and played demos of others.  I enjoyed them all for 3 to 5 hours before they all felt the same.

Maybe I'm just turning old and grouchy.  I'm more than happy to splurge on anything that breaks ground.  I'm following this title eagerly.  We'll see if it bears fruit!

The game aesthetic looks like if Fantasy General had a metalhead brother.
