Legendary rock guitarist, Eddie Van Halen, has died. He was 65.
Van Halen's son, Wolf, confirmed the news on Tuesday.
"I can't believe I'm having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halen, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning," he wrote on Twitter.

I remember having the first album and playing it when my high school buddies and I were shooting pool and drinking beer. His guitar technique had a big influence in the metal world. He also married a total hottie: Valerie Bertinelli.
May God have mercy on your soul Eddie! You were one of the very few celebrities I ever envied (mostly due to Valerie).
A friend turned me onto their debut album in the winter of 78 and i ended up seeing VH about a dozen times starting in the summer of 79. So very sad to hear this and prayers to all the family and friends. RIP.
Sad to learn this. He was an outstanding guitarist. RIP.
