They probably built the boat with hollow concrete pylons, using a substandard cement mix. And the hollow centers were filled with trash glass.

China has A LOT of experience doing that, though, so by now you'd think they'd be competent at it.

Star is on administrative leave, for now. Thought I saw Sir Andrew more recently, but I suspect I was just reading old threads.  :undecided:

Quote from: JasonPratt on October 01, 2024, 01:04:55 PMMeanwhile, before I left for work I saw a report I couldn't read details on, that Russia threw 50+ tanks and APCs at the Kursk envelopment and Ukraine completely mulched them.

That could be a major game change if so.

Correction, not at the Kursk salient, but rather at the DonBas front on the east. The Orks were trying to push forward on Kolisynkvivka (my spelling is going to suck, sorry), south of Kupyansk, to finish setting up a flanking envelopment on that larger river city, preparatory to an attack to take and hold Kupy, thus securing control of logistic traffic on the Oskil river and its primary crossing point in the region going westward (or eastward for the matter, to supply Ukrainian defenders on the east banks). The Russians already control the eastern banks northward from Lyman Pershii to some extent, so that part of the envelopment had been achieved (more or less) already.

"Reporting From Ukraine" (no idea about the channel's reliability) provides a succinct but detailed strategic and tactical analysis.

Fight Club International is running a Tactical Decision Game (TDC) using Combat Mission Pro, titled BALTIC SHIELD-Operation PARRY, beginning tomorrow at 1100 GMT.  The game casts you as the Commanding Officer of Task Force Aegis, and it is simple to play. The aim of the game is to produce a set of short written orders for each unit under your command and then enter them in the web form here: https://www.fightclubinternational.org/campaigns/tdg-op-parry

When producing these orders, you need only to consider the scenario summary info found on this webpage and the supporting orders and intelligence materials on the webpage above.
Together, your orders should form an overall course of action that will achieve the objectives stated in the Briefing section below (and elaborated in the downloadable OPORD document).

Fight Club will be collating submissions over the next month, after which a panel of serving & former military personnel will review each player's submission and select those considered to be the most promising.  These will then be executed within Combat Mission: Professional Edition, with the highest-scoring submission being declared the winner.

An example of how morally upstanding Hamass is and its connections to Daesh:  https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpw5v077nyjo  Hopefully, it will convince a few Palestinian terrorist supporters of what the terrorists would happily do to their female supporters.
QuoteA Yazidi woman who was kidnapped aged 11 in Iraq by the Islamic State group and subsequently taken to Gaza has been rescued after more than a decade in captivity there, officials from Israel, the US and Iraq said...
The Israeli military said the now 21-year-old's captor in Gaza had been killed during the ongoing war between Israel and the Palestinian armed group Hamas, probably as a result of an air strike.
The woman, identified as Fawzia Amin Sido, then fled to another place in Gaza.
The Israeli military said Ms Sido was eventually freed during a "complex operation coordinated between Israel, the United States, and other international actors" and taken to Iraq via Israel and Jordan.

Nice to see Canada finally pulling it's finger out, even if it is just a single, private individual.  Kudos, M. Maman.
