I really like the Ageod games about the American Revolution so I'll be keeping an eye on this new game.

This looks really interesting.
For a moment I thought you were talking about "We The People" which was later re-implemented as "Washington's War".

Thanks for the heads-up, WallysWorld. I actually went ahead and bought this game (I like supporting stuff like this when I'm actually able to). The game is apparently available now in a kind of Beta format... the dev sent me an email after I submitted my order and gave me a Steam key and said that AI wasn't implemented yet and there's only one map, but it is fully playable in multiplayer mode.
So if anyone else is feeling brave and wants to try out a game, I'm always up for trying out a new wargame!

Yep, I bought this in early access....it's a monster game so not sure it was a wise idea for me:) Intrigues me though so we will see.

Long ago, in a universe far far away, plans for a computer version of Mark Hermann's design were announced by - I think - Avalon Hill's computer division. Never happened.
Steam page is up: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2150300/SGS_We_The_People/
fyi: Apparently there is another "We the People" game coming soon on Steam [Hardcore First Person Tactical Zombie Shooter set in post-apocalyptic America in the year of 2028], so make sure you add the "SGS" if you're doing searches.

You can also buy direct from SGS, which also gives you a beta key right now, for those interested.
Very interesting. If it is as any good as BOA2 was I will definitely get at some point.
Scheduled for release on the 19th.
Here are some tutorial videos to get a feeling for the game: SGS We The People videos (https://strategygamestudio.com/sgs-we-the-people-video-tutorials/)
I'm feeling a bit revolutionary, might not be able to resist this one! :pirate:
One of those games I bought for early access that haven't really played yet....just every time I play these SGS games, the content sounds great but I can never stay interested in it for some reason. Hoping with this one a little more manageable and understandable, I'll get to trying it at some point. Maybe one of these SGS games will click with me.
I kind of figure I'll play games like this if I get a really large monitor one of these days.

+1 I am there as well.
The 'SGS way of war' has never really clicked with me. I have several titles, and just can't seem to stay interested in them while playing. Not sure why.
Anyway, I will throw in $25 (on sale) for this one. Maybe it will change my mind.
I wish the Ageod games format was still being designed ... loved those games ...
I really like the SGS system...though I did bounce off it initially. Be aware though that the game has been released without the province loyalty system implemented yet. It is apparently going to be added sometime in the future so I will hold off until then as in the War of Independence it seems quite a big deal.

Well about a month ago there was this absolutely amazing looking blonde girl in this bar........
:undecided:
Okay. I lied.
Multiple large PBEM's of Tiller games give little time for the other things in life like eating, drinking and Grogheads
WHAT? I thought WE were your, 'First Love'? :hearts:

Jeez...I never knew there were cameras around....the wife won't be happy
I'd be willing to play my second game of Magic the Garnering against her.
You know this thread about a wargame started off by the Boston Tea Party isn't so bad after all.
Any new thoughts on this one? Gamersgate has it on sale for the next day for ~$10 (with code GGD).

I had it wish listed but removed it earlier in the month when the developer announced their next game despite this one not being fully finished. The cards and battle system did not really appeal to me either which is mainly why I removed it. If you like the time period and ageod card type games with those types of battles I'd say can't beat it for $10 bucks, I don't think they ever released the "big" patch yet to add the rest of the gameplay (could be wrong about this).

I am in the same boat. There was supposed to be a fully fleshed out "loyalty" mechanic for the different regions (pretty important for the War of Independence) which was first said to be "coming soon after release" and now appears to have been quietly forgotten. The SGS games are okay but ongoing support is pretty threadbare from what I have seen, sacrificed to pumping out more new games.

Yeah, that is what I have noticed and makes me hesitant for future purchases. Seems like they have so many different titles in the pipeline, attention is quickly moved to the shiny new thing, wish they would spend more time fully realizing the potential of released games. Regardless of that, something about the game mechanics just doesn't click with me on all the SGS games and even though I have bought quite a few, have spent very little time with them including this one. Really do like the subjects they try and cover but slowly learning my lesson that these will never work for me.
Thanks all. Gamersgate has SGS games on sale a few times a year, so I'm going to hold off on this as well.
I bought the game about five months ago, and have only clocked 27min according to Steam.
I am not a fan of the 'SGS Way' and this game didn't really change that. But I don't want to dissuade anyone from the game, because it is pretty well put together. If you like SGS games, this is probably a good one. For me, it's just a mechanics thing.
If you aren't sure about SGS games, I recommend trying one of their lower cost games, like SGS Glory Recalled (the WWII invasion of Hong Kong) that you can get for $9.
Think I am going to wait for Ultimate General: American Revolution to bake some more.
