Silent Disapproval Robot

Eight of us went to Zero Latency today for a buddy's birthday and we played the Space Marine VR scenario.

It was a bit pricey at $70/person for 30 minutes but it was fun and we had a few laughs.

Basically you slap on a VR headset, get a toy gun with the world's worst sling and flail around in a big room trying not to bump into each other.

You can play regular or hard mode.  6 of us did hard mode. 2 did regular.  With hard, friendly fire is on, bolters are semi-auto, and reloads are manual.  Regular mode, boltera are full auto, reloads are automatic, and friendly fire is off.

Nobody got shot via friendly fire, but we all took a lot of shrapnel damage from the pump action grenade launchers.

You can find special weapons while playing but I only managed to get a flamer unit once and that happened to be in an outdoor section where everything was out of range.  I did get a melta gun right at the end but we killed the boss and ended the game before I could get a shot off.

Could definitely tell who'd had firearms and combat training and who hadn't.  Lots of people running in front of the firing line, poor muzzle discipline, etc.  Still we managed the 3rd highest score recorded so far so not too shabby.

My accuracy was terrible!   The muzzle velocity for the boaters seemed ridiculously slow so you had yo lead targets a lot.  Iron sights weren't modeled that well do it was more a case of shoot lots and hope for hits.

It was interesting but I don't think I'd go again at that price.
