Whitey Ford, one of the most talented pitchers in baseball history, who helped lead the New York Yankees to a string of World Series wins in the 1950s and '60s, has died, the team announced Friday. He was 91.

Baseball is losing lots of the old timers this year.

After looking through that list, saw that Tom Seaver has also passed this year.   :(

^Yeah this year has been particularly nasty to a lot of athletes and musicians and others who I always respected. Any week that sees both Whitey Ford and Eddie van Halen die is uniquely crappy.

At least 2020 has been consistent. Consistently horrible.

RIP

RIP.  :(

Not to derail the thread at all, but speaking of athlete deaths, I still can't believe this is the same year Kobe Bryant died.  Feels like that was several years ago now.

Lost a lot of greats this year.

It does feel like it was long ago.
