She also has almost nothing to do with that side of the story, so far as I recall. (Which is why her character was combined with the older Witch of the North for the movie.)

Edited to add: apparently I haven't read the book in so long that I've slightly mistaken Glinda herself as being like her bodyguards. Who only count as 'hot' to a boy younger than 12, since they're described around Dorothy's age.  ::) :P

Doubtless this would be fixed in the inevitable movie adaptation...
