Hi
I've been directed here as people here know stuff  8).

After a PC crash I had to reinstall everything back onto the computer.

I am able to install the original Neverwinter Nights game, the 2 expansion packs and the 3 premium modules, and play these without problem.

However, I also wish to download a free module, Darkness over Daggerford, that requires the game updated to version 1.69. This cannot be done through the update function, but the critical update is available here: http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view...Detail&id=1505
I can download it okay, but when I do so, the game runs very slowly, too jerky to play.

The game runs in XP service pack 2, and my OS in Windows 7.  PC specs are far more than adequate.

Any help please.  Pretty please.

You could try to change the CPU affinity so NWN only uses a single core.

Or update your video drivers to the latest version.

Thanks for the reply  8).

Drivers are up to date.
It may be something as simple as running the game as an administrator.
I'll download it again and see what happens.

Thanks  8).

Downloaded 1.69 patch but same problem still arises, even when changing to run as administrator.
The graphics effectively freeze or become jerky.

Anyone got any ideas.  Pretty please.

The link talks about a player ini file to turn off affinity?

Can someone explain how to do this in moron, which is my level of expertise with PC's  :-[.

To fix it permanently, open your nwnplayer.ini file (it is located in same directory as the game) and in [Game Options] section add this line (or change existing one to =1):

    Client CPU Affinity=1

Now the NWN game will always use your second core.

If that doesn't fix it try Client CPU Affinity=-1 which disables this function.
