Jarhead - Yeah. You're probably right.

Gus - I use sweatpants with flannel shorts to soak up my crotch sweat.

That's too bad. The artwork in the Myst series is some of the best ever done in video games (when accounting for the tech available as each title was released). There is a commonality to the art and architecture that makes the fictional civilization underpinning the series of games feel quite relevant and layered, along with a very detailed backstory. However, if you need to have lots of combat action in your games to be able to enjoy them then Myst, Riven, Uru, etc are not for you.

It was pretty top at the time.  I do like adventure games, I just remember a lot of my friends just getting stuck a number of times - this visualized the moment perfectly  :)

I never played any of those.

I tried, but it bored me to tears.  Especially after I broke my Civilization cherry.
Any time is a good time for pie.

BanzaiCat

I used to LOVE those kinds of adventures. Police Quest, Hero Quest, Monkey Island, etc. (though I never played Myst). I've found I don't have the patience for them anymore, and they're amazingly frustrating sometimes (missing a paperclip in the first five minutes of the game, that you need sixteen hours later and can't go back to get it).
