I get so tired and irritated with the hagiography over the officers' plot against hitler. They were all for him as long as they were winning. But when they started losing, and their Prussian estates were in danger of being overrun by the people that they'd been trying to exterminate, they turned.
The White Rose were babes in the wood, and were rolled up by the Gestapo very quickly. They knew the danger of their actions, but decided to do their bit to oppose evil.
