Edit: Module is complete and should be ready for play. I've been playtesting it via pbem with my brother and it's working nicely; the turn sequence of Blood Bowl makes it for a very pbem friendly game.
My idea is to try and get a league going. Games could be scheduled and pbem'd or played live. It would be a "relaxed" league meaning that we don't have to knock out a game every week. We can all work up the rules of the league when it gets to that point.
If you're interested in playtesting the module, I have it up on dropbox. The shared link is:

The current beta version filename is Blood_Bowl_Vassal_.9.2.vmod
If you do pull down a copy and tinker around with it, please let me know of any improvement suggestions or bugs that you find. With enough interest, I'll start putting together league details. If you've run a BB league before and are interested, by all means, let me know. I've never run nor even played in a league before.
9.2 Changes: A "Knocked Down" player can be toggled to "Stand Up" as part of a move with a Shift+S keystroke. This will remove the Knocked Down indicator overlay and place a "Has Moved" indicator in its place with the one keystroke.
9.1 Changes: Blocking symbol overlay can now be toggled with ctrl+numpad # for the direction of the block instead of having to cycle through all of the different blocking directions.
totally interested - ill download tonight and have a look, and then scour the net for an old copy of BB so i can set it up
for pure hits and traffic, once the league is ready to be advertised and maybe venture out onto the pc games section to make sure its seen - just a thought
I'm in for a league as well. Never played BB but it looks like a great game for a league.
Now for the downer part, I don't know how much you want to spread this around... are you going to get flak from GW for making and passing around a vassal module? They are pretty hyper for their IP .... :(
The rulebook and playaids are available in my dropbox folder. It's really a simple game. If anybody wants to set up a time to meet online with the module and skype, I'd be more than happy to go over the rules.
I'm obviously not going to upload the module to VASSAL. If GW wants to pay their attorneys to find out who has made a vassal module for a game line that they no longer support and they then want to sue me for the publishing a shared link that contains that module...well, more power to them.
Yes- I'll make an announcement on the PC game forum after we've done some more testing.
We've got four coaches already....great!
youll have Bob too - i take it the mystery coach is your brother?
whilst i would have no idea what the answer would imply - what rule set did you use? the one and only time i played it school it was the founding races and a few extras, not like it is now

Yes, my brother would be interested.
LRB6 (Living Rulebook 6). There's an ebook (.chm) that I put together or the pdf can be downloaded from:

awesome thanks
oh man dark elves or skaven??!?!?
My brother just skype'd and said that he lost a playoff game to the Skaven last night (Ipad game version). That he didn't realize that they were good at "gunning and running". They've got a couple of throwers with 'Sure Hands' and 'Pass', and decent speed (7). The Gutter Runners are just plain quick (9) and they can 'Dodge'. Throw in a couple of Blitzers, above average Agility skills (some 4's, 3's) and moderately good armor (7) and man...yeah, they look like a very solid team.
they were my high school team when i didnt even know what they were - car wars and BB were my first GW games before i knew about the whole GW universe

And you shouldn't.....
Steve Jackson Games, FTW. As far as I know they're still in business!
I'm down for some BB as well. Though it'll be a learning curve for me as it's been a long long while since I've tried my hand at anything close to the minis side of things.

Very cool! Nicely done module.
Weather has an effect on the game?
Resized that very large pic...sorry about that.
Yes. You roll for weather at the start of a match and it can potentially change during the match.
I have a weather marker at the bottom of the map. Changing that marker changes the weather effects graphic for the field (the 'pitch').

Version .9 of the module is going up now (.8 removed).
Some minor fixes and added the ability to send to the dugouts from a right click menu command and/or keyboard shortcut.
I play the Chaos edition on my PC, and it's a lot of fun, and great for multiplayer. It's impressive what you chitkicker's are doing though with vassal. 8) O0

Thanks Boggit. I like the Chaos edition for a quick "pick up" game. You might try this version as well (vs someone from here). I personally like the "labor" involved with looking up my own results on tables and looking up the skills and applying them. I just feel more connected to the game. Nothing beats actually sitting at the board with those mini's though...!
We're finding that pbem turns go by quickly using VASSAL, just as a real turn in Blood Bowl is fairly quick. This really makes for a good pbem game.
Version .9.1 is up for those interested. You can assign blocks to point in the direction pointing with a ctrl+numpad key combo (i.e., ctrl+numpad 4 is a block to the players left).
Anybody have a chance to mess around with this yet? I'm itching for some more game time!
