This weekend's Steam sale focuses on Focus Interactive, and dang a lot of major content up to 80% off!

Battlefleet Gothic, 40% off.

Space Hulk Deathwing -- 15% off for preorder. (I have moderately high hopes for this, but I'm chilling a bit until I see reviews/impressions. Too many other things to be playing already, otherwise I'd snap that pre-order discount like a trout.)

Mordheim -- 66% off (!!!) Now under $15.

Blood Bowl 2 -- 70% off (!!) Also now under $15. (Although I haven't played it yet, I gather it's still not quite as good as Chaos Edition BB1, although naturally it looks better and the AI has a somewhat better grasp on how to play to faction capabilities.)

Farming Sim 15 -- 50% off, now under $15. (Not sure there was a 16.)

Styx and Of Orcs and Men (dark fantasy 3ps games) -- 75% off

Space Run Galaxy -- 40% off, now under $15.

The Wargame series -- everyone here already owns this, but deep discounts. Wargame: Red Dragon now 70% off, under $12! Heck, you could get the whole franchise (not sure why bother with European Escalation) for $15.

Blood Bowl (1) Chaos Edition -- 75% off, now under $8

ICEBREAKER THESIS CHRONOLOGY! -- Victor Suvorov's Stalin Grand Strategy theory, in lots and lots of chronological order...
Dawn of Armageddon -- narrative AAR for Dawn of War: Soulstorm: Ultimate Apocalypse
Survive Harder! -- Two season narrative AAR, an Amazon Blood Bowl career.
PanzOrc Corpz Generals -- Fantasy Wars narrative AAR, half a combined campaign.
Khazâd du-bekâr! -- narrative dwarf AAR for LotR BfME2 RotWK campaign.
RobO Q Campaign Generator -- archived classic CMBB/CMAK tool!

I wouldn't be so sure about that. I own none of them. My 65 year old brain can't handle those fast paced, rts games. Turn based I can handle.

I thought Red Dragon had it's own speed setting, in vanilla.  Maybe it's the mod I'm thinkin of..?

Correct : Bullet time mode (but this is really slow)

Tropico 4 is apparently free for the next 14 hours or so (and it's 9:40pm CST here right now).

I still play and enjoy the original COH and its 2 expansions along with the free Blitzkrieg mod. COH2 never appealed to me.

If you've played and enjoyed the Dawn of War series so far, you might like the CoH series which uses a heavily modified and somewhat upgraded version of the same game engine and gameplay.

I've played both, and the single-player campaigns are generally solid and offer lots of play -- assuming you're okay with super-epic missions lasting a few hours each to finish a map on EVERY SINGLE MAP.

I'm less enamored with the multi-player, simply because I'm spoiled for distinct faction choices in other games (including DoW 1 from the same devs): the mp is still high quality, and the factions offer some in-game choices of what kind of abilities and units you want to use within a faction (especially in CoH2).

If you like the subject matter at all (keeping in mind there are numerous campaigns for both games, so maybe you don't care to play Normandy two or three ways but you do want to do a Bulge or Cobra campaign), and you're okay with playing a pausable real-time game with occasionally some base building, I'd say buy with confidence while on sale.
