Title: Ellis Family (bawb & Denise)
Post by: panzerde on December 22, 2017, 08:38:54 PM
Some sad news to share this evening. Stuart Ellis, son of Grogheads family members Bob and Denise Ellis, passed away very unexpectedly this evening. I don't have much more information at this time.

Please keep the Ellis' in your thoughts this holiday season. I'll update the thread when we know more.

sorry for your loss, sad news indeed when a child is lost...unfortunately i unexpectantly lost my own young son over the summer so i understand how hard it will be, but family and friends will be important to help you through it.

wish you the best under the circumstances...

Title: Re: Ellis Family
Post by: Sir Slash on December 23, 2017, 11:46:31 PM
Damn Grim. Sorry to hear that man. Next to loosing a spouse, loosing a child has to be the toughest thing on Earth. I believe you are right about family and friends helping you through it and they should be. Your family and true friends should be the first at your side in a crisis or tragedy. And the last to leave it. Many people feel very uncomfortable talking with someone about death and loss but you don't need to be the talker to help most, you need to let them talk about it, as they feel the need, and just be there for them throughout.

I've started a GoFundMe campaign to help Bob and Denise provide for Stuart's daughter, Grace. I know it's a tough time of the year for people with holiday expenses, but if you can spare a little cash, I'm sure it will be very appreciated. All funds will go to Bob and Denise at the conclusion of the campaign to help support Grace.

The link for donations is https://www.gofundme.com/grace-ellis-fund (https://www.gofundme.com/grace-ellis-fund).

Merry Christmas to everyone and thanks for all that you all do here.

As you can imagine, we are still totally stricken with shock and grief at our loss. I just want to say how grateful we are for all the kindness and support we are receiving from our friends, not least of all those here at GH.

I'm also very humbled by the actions of Doug and Terri, who, as I'm sure most of you know, are very specially friends of ours.

Thank you all, I wish you a good Christmas and New Year. I will post again when I feel I can cope, but for now the sorrow is a very heavy burden.

Please just know , that whenever you feel ready to talk , or just need somebody to be a listening ear , I'm here for you as your friend . On the other hand ,you might just not want to talk about it . You might just want a conversation about anything ,other than the tradgedy you're going through . But whatever I can do to help , like the rest of your friends ...I'm here for you . This is just so sad , I'm so sorry this is happening for you .

All of my love Bob to you and your family xxx

I know that, and I thank you for it.

We're now in a position where his wife is waiting for a death certificate so that final arrangements can be made. There was delay not only due to the holiday period but also because the coroner requested a PM, which was done last Friday. This did not indentify cause of death so they have taken a lot more tissue samples for more tests.

It goes without saying that this is all adding to the distress that that we are feeling. We really want to get it all over with so that we can try and pick our lives up again. This has, without doubt, been the hardest days of our lives, but the continued support from you guys is helping us more that I can say.

Thank you from both of us.

Hey Man. That's what Grogs do. You and your wife have earned the right to handle this anyway you feel right for you both including being mad at the whole world if you want to. But the fact you are not is a testament to the kind of people you both really are. Your strength and devotion at this time will be noticed by those around you and will become an example to them when they face times of tragedy themselves. I've seen this happen many times before but God knows, I don't know if I would have to strength to do it myself. Much love to you both.

On behalf of Grace, Jacob, Denise, myself and our families, I would like to thank you all for your support and donations, which I assure you are very welcome and will be put to good use while Stuarts affairs are being put into order.

He had an amazing send off, with an estimated 200 people attending the funeral, which was very touching. Stuart was a well liked man and had many friends, not only from places he had worked at, but also from his school days, and we were very gratified that so many of them attended to say goodbye to him.

He was a keen golfer, and, by his own admission, not a terribly good one. The group of pals with whom he played said they will now obtain a trophy, the 'Stuart Ellis Cup', and when they hold thier touramnets, they will award the cup to whoever gets the worst score. Its the sort of thing that would have appealed to Stuarts sense of humour.

Finally, I would like to offer a big thank you to our dear, and very special friend, Doug, who organised the gofundme for the kids. Thank You Doug and Terri for all you have done.

Very sincere thanks from us both;
Robert and Denise.
