If you have a GOG account, you have 48 hours to claim your copy of Fantasy General, which is a challenging turn based game using the Panzer General engine.
sweet!
Thanks!!!
[edit] It is showing $5.99 for me. :(
Same
Me, too. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Was there a link sent in an email?
I purchased this a while back and played it again.
It does not hold up well over time. There are a lot better games out there of this type.
But you cannot beat the price point.
I only see Saints Row as being free. No sign of Fantasy General special deal.
Just saw this as well. Had to switch to IE to get the captcha thingy to work. Here is what I saw on Slickdeals:

-3 :-[ Worked for me until I realized I already had it. Wouldn't give me a second copy. :P So I moved it up on my "to play" list from #121 to #58. Hoping to get to it in my next lifetime. O0

While it is old, there are some interesting aspects of it.
While the Fantasy War / Elven Legacy engine is indisputably superior, the campaign structure is far more epic and the archer units all have built-in counter-fire support (a special ability possible level-up for archers in FW/EL). This makes archers somewhat more useful despite their range being less in FG (only one hex) due to the larger scale.
The choice on how to spend xp teching up unit-types is interesting in theory for FG, but broken in practice since the game is designed to punish you by severely ramping up the difficulty if you don't spend your xp pretty evenly. ::) The tech-up choice structure in FW/EL is thus superior here, too.
On the other hand, the FG soundtrack is much better. O0
