Any questions come up about 7 days to die for you, i have a lot of hours into that one.
I gave myself a $100 budget. I'm at $75 so far.
Hannibal: The Terror of Rome for $10 and Age of Charlemagne for $4. That's two great conquerors for less than $15. Can't beat that deal.
Codex of Victory (already put it in for refund. Nothing here really got my attention in a quick play that makes it stand out at all)
Crowntakers (okay, this one is fun. Check it out if you like little tactical games with random world construction and upgrade-able units)
Age of Rivals (Sweeeeeet quick little civ-style card game. Think of it as a sort of simple digital 7 Wonders)
Banner Saga 2 (FINALLY)
Nothing yet. Maybe Nobunaga's Ambition Ascension.
Not a thing here that I would want.
Tabletop Simulator
Warfighter DLC for TS
Farming Simulator 2017 - purchase due imminently
Doomstar... Stratego in Space. Apparently.

Nothing.
I got Civil War Ultimate General and was soon busy supervising part of the Army of Northern Virginia at Cold Harbor. Seemed like a safe bet.
Well, I pinned my name and address and the names of all my living children to my tin coffee cup and went SHOOOO_WEEEEE ridin' for a good half hour and then I hung up the proverbial phone on Jeff Davis and shut off this here computer and then turned it back on and here I am.
It was on SALE! Seems like a fun game!

Such discipline is admirable, but resistance is futile. I'm looking at HOI4, Ultimate General Civil War, Sengoku Jidai Gold Bundle, and maybe Torchlight 2 but have not pulled the trigger yet.
I got Cossacks 3 finally, I am looking at:
Oriental Empire
Utimalte General Civil War
Steel Armor
Supreme Ruler Ultimate
Advanced Tactics
Also wanna get some DLCs:
Graviteam Tactics Dawn of Blau
EU4: Rights of Man
CK2: Monks and Mystics
Command Ops2: Foothills of Gods
Total War: Rome II DLC - Final few bits
Total War: Attila DLC - Final few bits
ArmA 3: Apex & Marksman DLC
This War of Mine
Except they're still in my cart and I haven't bought them yet. Playing a game of chicken with myself.
Primordia (haven't tried it yet)
Battle Academy (haven't tried it yet, but have played Battle Academy 2 several times)
How To Survive (haven't tried it yet)
Convoy (played it a bit, it's pretty fun; reminds me of an old school adventure game)
Turmoil (played it a lot yesterday; it's strange how fun this game is - easily my favorite of the bunch)
Sproggiwood (played it a bit, it's a different kind of adventure game, not bad, not amazing)
Sitting in my cart now for $51.27:
SteamWorld Heist
Fantasy Wars
Illwinter's Floorplan Generator
Steam: Rails to Riches
Elven Legacy
Subsistence
Codex of Victory
Commands & Colors: The Great War
There will be others. I'm also thinking about No Man's Sky for $23.99 but still not sure if it's worth it.
Not really anything I want. Lots of single player games I was thinking of getting like Mius Front by graviteam, but to me without the prospect of coop multi they seem like dead ends. I feel like I am wasting my time when I play single player these days.
Check greenmangaming and gamersgate before doing the steam sales BTW. Dawn of War 3 especially
DOW3 is $30 on greenman, where the steam special is $50.99 US @ 25% off. Other sites like greenman and gamersgate are certainly trying to stem the steam sales.
Deserts of Crack $16, 66% off. Very good deal imho. I had fun with the story campaign.
Naval Action is 33% off.

Was discussing doing some Tabletop Simulator multi-player this weekend. Tuna said he picked up
Darkest Night. Fortunately for these paid DLC packs, only the MP host needs to own the game in question, so if anyone has the core TTS program, then they're in. :bd:
I think a Grogheads
Warfighter card game could be some laid-back fun. Or any of those others listed. I own the physical versions of all these & am familiar with the rules. Although a little brush-up, beforehand, is always good.
What do you all think....is what we see now the full extent of the sale or will there be additions/specials as the days unfold?

War in the East and both DLCs.
Finally jumping in at the deep end :D
Most titles in the Steam Sale don't seem to be as heavily discounted as years back so I've been able to stay stingy, only bought 2 so far:
Space Hulk : Deathwing - I've been immersed in the Horus Heresy series the last couple of months thanks to the Humble Book Bundle a few months back, hoping Deathwing will do WH40 justice despite some iffy reviews
Stardew Valley - hoping this is sort of like Farm Sim which I like to play to relax, good reviews and good discount

Has it improved in any way since its release.
I remember watching lets plays, and seeing just how untrue to the WH40K lore it was, and how it lacked actual progress (leveling up, unlocks, etc..).

Sengoku Jidai Gold Bundle and Monkey Island Special Edition Bundle.
And that will be absolutely, positively and definitely all that I'm buying .... until I go back onto the Steam Store Page.
I just picked up Turmoil. Looks like it could be a fun little game.
Oh, and I'm issuing a full recommendation for Age of Rivals. If you like digital card games that can be played in 15-20 minutes with a light civilization theme, get it. It's fantastic.
I'm debating the DLC for Warhammer Total War, but I figure I'll actually try the damn game first and see what I think of it. That's about as close to restraint as I ever get. :DD
Torchlight II (and I as well) was an awful lot of fun, but i remember it bogging down mid-game; the loot was of Monty Hall proportions and it started to be a headache checking out everything to see if it offered a better advantage than what I had.
Actually I was thinking about trying it again soon, because the early game is indeed quite fun.

You know i had Age of Rivals on my wishlist for awhile, just took it off yesterday. Might have to give it another look.
Turmoil is a nice little relatively casual game. I've already put 2 hours into it.
I looked again at Age of Rivals and remember why i passed, i have 3 other card type games i havent put much time into, Thea;the Awakening, Gremlins, and Twilight struggle. Played a bit of Gremlins and Twilight Struggle, enjoy both of them....Gremlins is a pretty cutthroat game with good AI, Twilight Struggle i like but need to put more time in to learn the strategies.
I did get off the bench and just bought Darkest Dungeon, Steamworld Heist and Hand of Fate[another card type game] which grabbed me more than Age of Rivals.

3rd party account only needed for online multiplayer per one of the threads in their discussion forums at steam. other threads state multiplayer is non existant and the ai is no challenge!!
'Playfab' HA
My second and probably final haul:
Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition
Dead Age
Dungeon Rats
Pathfinder Adventures
Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander
The Viceroy
Age of Rivals

The developer says that you only need that for online multiplayer, which I'll never use.

All you gotta do is learn the Tabletop Simulator interface/commands. I can teach the aforementioned games to you guys (it looks to have built-in voice, but there's always Teamspeak too).
TTS even has a tutorial that will run you through the basics of manipulating game pieces, cards, dice, etc. Also has a good little key command Help window using " / " key.
I toyed around in the Warfighter module for a bit, after doing the tutorial. Figured out enough to play it.
I also have these other modules in it, and own the boxed versions of them too:
Zombicide
Xia: Legends of a Drift System
Xia is the only one I haven't got around to playing the physical version yet. So it would require a longer notice, beforehand, to digest the rules again. But it's a sandbox type of game which tends toward longer sessions anyway, so no hurry. But Warfighter, Zombicide, and Darkest Night aren't all that difficult and I remember most of the rules to all of those from playing a few times.
They're all Co-Op against the game system (minus Xia), so you're not gonna get smeared by someone who's played it more than you. You'll get smeared by the automated opponent. ^-^

You're right, first impressions are really good, pretty cool to see WH40k lore come to life in first person as I walk through the gothic ships in my terminator armor exterminating xenos.
Re: Steam: Rails to Riches. Thanks CptHowdy and bbmike for letting me know that Playfab would only be needed for online play. O0
So far all I've gotten is 'The Grim and the Grave' DLC for Total Warhammer and 'Alea Jacta Est'.
I want Decisive Campaigns Barbarossa and Steel Battalion but they're only discounted 50 cents off of 75 billion dollars. Not enough to entice me in.
Going to go trade in some old console games of mine for STEAM credit however. GameStop has a deal for members in which you get an extra 30% trade in value if you use the credit to buy STEAM cards.
I added The Escapists the Walking Dead to my total. not sure it counts as i bought it on Amazon because it was $.50 cheaper ;D
Not on sale, but I just took the plunge on Cold Waters.
Picked up:
Audiosurf 1 & 2
Trails in the sky
Life is strange
Crashlands
And I'm going to pull the trigger on either cold waters or nier automata... both are similar in cost but have a sneaking suspicion that cold waters will hit a humble monthly in the next 6 months or so not that I really want to wait that long

When nef and I were first playing, I dropped some cards off the table by mistake and we couldn't find them, but nef had me right click on on still on the table and do reset and that brought them back.
I have picked up the following:
- Assetto Corsa + Dream Packs
- Motorsport Manager: GT Series
- Offworld Trading Company + Jupiter's Forge
And have my eyes on Ultimate General: Civil War, Cossacks 3, Void Destroyer 2, Imagine Earth and Winds of Trade :-"
Wargame Red Dragon - Nation Pack: Netherlands
Wargame: Red Dragon - Nation Pack: Israel
Wargame Red Dragon - Double Nation Pack: REDS
Star Ruler 2 - Wake of the Heralds
Command Ops 2: Knock On All Doors Vol. 6
Command Ops 2: Westwall Vol. 7
Braveland - Seems like a decent little HOMM style game. Not a lot of meat to it, really, but it's decent fun for less than $2.50
Monster Slayers - Hello, digital card game! and a roguelike! With different encounters! And an upgrade-able deck!
Also grabbed Highlands and LOGistICAL, but I haven't tried either of them yet. And I downloaded the demo for Age of Decadence. The premise seems interesting, but it's a rare RPG that actually grabs me whatsoever these days.
Not on sale, but I picked up PlayerUnknown's Battleground. Very exciting game, especially team mode.

They're all full games.
I have Shadowrun: Hong Kong on GOG and the other two on Steam; I've spent more time with the Hong Kong game.
Shadowrun Returns is the first game. I think it is unique in that if I remember right, it has a game editor in it so you can create your own campaigns. Also, I think it has a vibrant community supporting it on Steam, so you can download tons of user-made modules. I'm not sure if that applies to the other two games; I've not gotten that deeply into it to find out, and besides, I'm not a fan (generally) of user-made content.
Dragonfall was originally a DLC expansion for Returns. However, the version you see today is called Shadowrun Dragonfall: Director's Cut, which is a stand-alone game.
So, to answer your question, no; Dragonfall: DC does not supersede the first game (Returns). They're both stand-alone games.
Hong Kong has a very good story to it; I think it's the best out of the three.
Blood Bowl II with all the eight expansion teams, and Labryinth, a very cool (and cheap!) turn based dungeon romp.
As usual, I am playing the three dollar game more than the $30 dollar game!

That's still pretty pricey, those teams at five bucks or so a pop. Still, if you're getting mileage out of it...
Done with FNV for now until I go back and mod it up. Spoke with a buddy yesterday and he said it is a lot better when modded.
I have the opposite issue with F4...really enjoy it except it is frustratingly difficult. I am wondering the Revere Beach T station now just to level up and ignoring the story missions for now because most of them kill me almost immediately since I am weak (Level 6). I do have an armor set but I have run out of fusion cores twice for it already. Learned to repair it and craft some new pieces too. That is the part of F4 that really grabbed me...that a player can get into armor about an hour in to the game. I love the idea of the customization of it too.

Jesus posting from phones suck. Sorry about being almost indecipherable with this post
Thanks Jamus - I started learning about the wonders of melee 2-3 hours in and have a trustee wooden board to crack people's skulls in. It is surprisingly effective. Long range shots I am still not so great at, and I'm also learning how to effectively use Molotovs and grenades. I had a proud moment in a T tunnel yesterday when I took out two raiders with a well placed grenade toss. But this was after getting killed 100000 times by supermutants and their effing mutated hounds. So I am recovering now - power armor has lost power again so I am on foot. All I really want to do is explore the wasteland...do I really have to be like lvl10 or higher just to explore? COME ON NOW.
Pulled the trigger on HOI4 this morning.
Part Deux...
Astrokill
Iwo
Luftrausers
Serious Sam's Bogus Detour
The Spacials: Galactology
Versus Squad
Stalingrad
Pavlov VR
Act of War: Direct Action
Total is about $43, bringing me about $25 over my budget for the sale.
Hmm...Stalingrad looks decent for $1.24...but it looks just like Blitzkrieg, which was okay in its day but today I'm fairly meh about. Can't go too wrong for a buck and change though.

My logic, as well.
After Cossacks 3, which was goo for a couple of random map and that is it for me, today I got Supreme Ruler Ultimate, my first game in the series (was on my wishlist for really long time), the UI very confusing for me now but I will figure it out soon I guess.

Blood Bowl II with all the eight expansion teams, and Labryinth, a very cool (and cheap!) turn based dungeon romp.
As usual, I am playing the three dollar game more than the $30 dollar game!
I keep waiting for the inevitable all-dlc-collected-edition of BB2.
Still...Blood Bowl 2 with 16 teams for 30 dollars is pretty good value.

But I'm hesitant as with my luck, a week after my purchase, the complete edition will be released with new DLCs that require it.
I thought BBI and BB:Chaos Edition were both terrible games. I fall firmly in the "the damn thing cheats" category, no matter the number of random die roll proof the fanboys out there purport to exist.
BB II I've actually had a decent enough time at. I just can't support a business model that gives you two base teams (Orcs and Humans) and then charges you out of the ying-yang for additional content...that's some iPad App Store BS there.
Thirty bucks is indeed a deal on all that, but they need to package it all together and put a $29.99 price tag on it and not split it up like that. It makes the nerd rage in me boil over.

I try not to judge BC's lifestyle.
Not that there's anything wrong with it.
No, of course not.
Except a couple of those niggling, er, details.
Use of "niggling" kinda creeps me out.
It should. Those couple of things were...exotic.
Northgard - to buy, or not to buy; that is indeed the wozname, innit.
I have Planescape: Torment - Newfangled Edition and Sengoku Jidai Gold in the cart right now for a total of 35.59. That and Fallout 4 that I got for 14.99 bring me 58 cents above my 50 dollah limit if I buy.

Underrail
Underrail is a quirky, odd game.
Gusington,
I have had a chance to play any yet, but from what I've read in reviews, selecting the right characters specs at the beginning of the game is crucial.
Definitely - also, the game is made for you if you are a completionist and want to explore every last nook of every map.
So far I've been very pleased with my Age of Charlemagne purchase. It's brought back a bit of that old TW magic I've been missing since Shogun 2. The world is a little more stable and there are less monster-stacks of armies on the move everywhere, buildings are more varied and the economy makes sense. Could be a real winner.

My first few tries were brutal.
I often enjoy RPGs being difficult, but I was regularly getting my ass handed to me by the first major NPC opponent I ran into.
You really have to specialize your character stat-wise. Even then, it's touch & go early on. I expect it to get better after some level-ups, but I haven't got that far yet.

Sounds promising. Let us know more when you've had a chance to spend time with it.
Will do. I started playing as Charlemagne but want to try-out some of the smaller factions too. There seems to be a nice choice of playable factions.
There is also a great mod that adds playable Byzantines that I will get to after putting another 1000 hours in to Fallout 4.
The Age of Justinian if I'm remembering correctly. It's on my games-radar too.

You can buy all eight DLC teams at once..probably for those individuals that only bought the base game. Cyanide isn't afraid to charge very high prices for their games. I enjoy their Tour de France bicycle racing game..but it be esspensive.
Slash I don't think it's called Age of Justinian - it models Byzantine Sicily. The name totally escapes me.
All righty then. I'll see if I can find that one and check it out.
Use the filters in the Steam workshop for Age of Charlemagne mods and the keyword 'Byzantine' and it will be the first mod to pop up. There are other mods that go well with it like a Byzantine fireship mod, Byzantine armor and unit overhauls, etc.

Shadows of Mordor full complete edtion and L.A. Noire complete. Looking at Dishonoured 2 (have they fixed it??) and perhaps Call of Duty WWII.

Added a couple of more:
Pathfinder Adventures Obsidian Edition - Thanks for mentioning this here, I gave it a try on tablet first for free and really liked it, so went all in
TIS-100 - interesting puzzle game and I've always wanted to learn assembly language, looks like fun
My Summer Car - interesting scandinavian car building, tuning, and drunken adventures game, been on my wishlist for a long while
I think that will be it for this sale, I ended up buying more than I planned (as usual)
Brought 'Divinity Original Sin - Enhanced edition' copy for me and one for Mrs.B. Hope we can get some co-op play in eventually.
Frying pans: the original PvP game!
LOGistICAL had an interface that looked like Windows '95 and was about as handy to use as DOS. Awful. Couldn't refund it fast enough.
Latest haul of stuff :
Save Jesus - Believe it or not, it's a puzzle game. And...it's kinda fun.
Stories : The Path of Destinies - Really like this one. Reminds me a fair bit of Bastion, particularly from the 'storytelling narrator' aspect. Nice graphic style as well. Simple to play, fun progression so far.
Also grabbed The Viceroy and Dominions 4, though I haven't tried either of them yet.
Tried the demo for Age of Decadence. I like the idea of the game, but the combat was so dangerous that it actually felt a bit absurd. Too bad, because the game world and story aspects sound fantastic. I might pick up Divinity - Original Sin to fill that RPG void.

Thanks to Stags (big time) I have a copy of FSX: Steam Edition!
Now I'm eyeing to buy the Stuka, A-6E, and B-29 add-ons...as Tuna said in another thread, this looks like a huge slippery slope!
Total haul so far:
Firewatch (highly recommended)
Murdered: Soul suspect
Alien Isolation (complete edition)
L.A. Noire (complete edition)
Shadow of Mordor (complete edition)
Dishonoured 2
Alien will have you soil your drawers.
Finally took the plunge into Command Ops 2 with The Cauldron DLC. Still on the fence about Oriental Empires or a second DLC for Command Ops, Foothill of the Gods. Can't afford both. :'(

The combat system offered in OE is way too esoteric for it to be effective. They are trying to put in a....hard to describe...complex, micromanagment game mechanic into something that doesnt really translate effectively with the rest of the game when you consider its terrible feedback loop (ability to change tactics based on results where unit behavior is unpredicable etc.)
Final purchases made....spent more than intended. I refuse to go back onto Steam until the sale is over! Command Op's 2 DLC Foothills of the Gods, Command: Modern Air/Naval add-on Northern Inferno, and Sow: Waterloo DLC Ligny.
I broke. XCom2 for $14.86. I played many versions of xcom, including the original many, many hours. Probably my favorite game of all time not named Railroad Tycoon II.
I didn't buy any expansions, and haven't yet downloaded any mods from the workshop.
Help me out here, folks...what are the non-optional mods or DLC's for this, if any? Thanks in advance.

Got that one on the sale, too. Had put it off until finding out the devs added saves for it awhile back.
Also grabbed the following today:
Nier Automata
Thea the awakening
Turmoil
This war of mine
And that should end my sale spending this summer.
I bought Mad Max from Humble Bundle but nothing from Steam this year. I forgot that I'd re-subbed from HumbleBundle's monthly service so I just got keys fro Dark Souls II or something.
After adding twelve items to my Steam cart at one point, I ended up only buying some DLC for Farming Simulator 15.
After a lot of thought and analysis, and plenty of argument and fight between me and the other me, I shot a fire on those:
Dino System (god damn dirt cheap and I want something survival dinosaurs)
Advanced Tactics
This is Police
DLCs:
TW:Attila Slavic Nation
GT: Dawn of Blau
CO2: Foothills of the gods
Originally I had like 20 items in my cart, I am proud of myself this summer sale I managed to save a lot of games from becoming forgotten untouched dusty toys in the darkest corner of my library dungeon.

Two last minute purchases: To End All Wars: Breaking the Deadlock and the new and not on sale The Golf Club 2. Bought the latter because TGC Tours which I belong to are switching to the newer game.

The XC2 expansions are cosmetic I think up until later this summer, when the first proper content DLC will come out.
The most essential mod no doubt is Long War 2. But spend some time in the base game first.
Meanwhile, from memory...
Homeworld: Emergencalysm or whatever the rename is called now. Not a Steam sale, but it released at the same time.
A couple of small DLC for Warhammer: Total War that I hadn't gotten yet.
Warfighter for TTS.
Insurgency four-pack, one installed one already given out.
Rebought Space Hulk: Deathwing -- which I played with --budd-- last night. Game balance remains broken, really needs two or more players. With two players it's probably impossible without one being the medic and one being the tacmarine (for the instant resurrection of the medic).
Space Beast Terror Flight four-pack, one installed and one already given out. Blatantly Aliens, and though still in beta its reviews are much happier with it than with Deathwing. Runs on a potato at just over 550 megs, too.
Farming Simulator: 2017 no dlc yet.
Rebought The Guild 2: Renaissance while it's super-cheap, since Steam fans are still updating it for polish.
Settlers 7: the subtitle subtitle. It may destroy my Ubisoft install.
Deep Rock Galactic not on sale, but an alpha from Jarhead.
Graviteam's Tank Warfare: Tunisia or whatever it's called. I came close several times to pulling the trigger on Mius Front, too, but decided I could wait until after I had messed with this.
I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a few games.
With the Steam Summer Sale now over, here's my damage report:
* Warhammer Total War DLCs:
- Call of the Beastmen
- The Grim and the Grave
- The King and the Warlord
- Realm of the Wood Elves
* Mordheim DLCs:
- Hired Swords DLC Bundle 1
- Hired Swords DLC Bundle 2
- Witch Hunters
- Undead
* Batman Telltale adventure game
* Watchdogs 2 Gold edition
* Assassin's Creed Syndicate DLC:
- Dreadful Crimes (purchased using Steam Wallet money made by selling extra copies of Steam trading cards)
Total damage: $112.25

I haven't bought a game from Steam in a long time. I'd like to think it's because I've become more refined and discerning in my gaming tastes. I know that's not the case so much as lack of time to play and interest in the games that are coming to market.

I bought nothing.
Same here - I think I am in a recovery phase. :)
Ditto... we may need to start a support group.... :crazy2:
I haven't bought a game from Steam in a long time. I'd like to think it's because I've become more refined and discerning in my gaming tastes. I know that's not the case so much as lack of time to play and interest in the games that are coming to market.
Mine is purely monetary... or lack there of... I know there's always another sale and I'll have more game budget by then... maybe....
Now that the sale is over.....there's SO MUCH I need! :'(
It's not a 'recovery' phase, gents...it's the denial phase.
