15 Days before Season 7 hits the screen. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!! As the premier approaches, more and more speculative articles and puff pieces appear online. One that I found might interest you, a list of 93 GoT characters from least evil to most evil. I let you find out who they think is the worst.
https://www.yahoo.com/movies/every-major-game-thrones-character-195152555.html
I binge-watched seasons 3-6 and I'm so ready for Season 7. The show has gotten better every season imho.
Without reading the article I would have to say Ramsey Bolton followed by the mountain (at least the book version) and Joffrey.
Most people in the story are not evil per se, self centered and egotistical yes but not purposely evil.
I won't spoil it, but you're close.

Crap, I missed that. I could have recorded and finally watched this series. Though I wonder if my DVR could hold the entire series. :))
The trailers for this new season are phenomenal...this season looks amazing.
I had stopped after Season 5...when Season 5 ended and Season 6 was months away. Since then I haven't watching it but they've been watching it like mad out here. I've only caught bits and pieces but I saw what happened with Cercei in 6, as well as Jon Snow, and Stannis, and...and...and. I have to go back and re-watch the whole thing.
Hell yes you do!
Most likely to die in the upcoming season:

I was rewatching a bunch of the show last weekend, and I gotta say, I think a lot of the best moments were all the way back in season 2, and there haven't been a ton of "must see" moments for me since then, with the exception of the battle of Hardhome and the raising of the dead at the end of it.
But the earlier scenes, like Dany 'rebuilding' her tribe and then taking command of the Unsullied and having them kill the masters, or the early forays beyond the wall, or Tyrion as the Hand of the King essentially running King's Landing, were all back in season 2 and all way more interesting to me.

while I don't agree with the conclusions of the article - in which he magnifies some of the more nutso moments and commonplace - I have a hard time finding fault with this statement, particularly after the last few years detouring into education
QuoteThere is a deeper sense in which the old problems that were the hallmark of realist fiction and drama — the old stand-bys of morals, manners, marriage, and money — are simply not interesting to people who are not emotionally mature enough to engage with them. And that group, I think, makes up a larger and larger percentage of the dollars-spending, media-consuming American public each year. We really are, emotionally speaking, a nation of teenagers — albeit horny ones with generous allowances.
While I admittedly got tired of seeing Jax Teller's ass in every third or forth episode of Sons of Anarchy and while I agree that a lot of violence and sex in the media is gratuitous, the writer seems to be longing for the days of black and white movies where there were clearly defined good guys and bad guys and women knew their place. To label viewers as not being "emotionally mature" because they don't share his ideas of what is moral, mannered, marriaged or monied makes me want to slap a "get off my lawn" sticker across his forehead and shove him back into his rocking chair. Most of the events in Game of Thrones are based on real events, including The Red Wedding and incest among royalty. It's history fictionalized. Cultural norms differ, few people are all good or bad and frankly anti-heroes are more realistic than John Wayne caricatures. Realist fiction and drama are an issue for the writer? Fine. Cable is filled with the crap I grew up watching in the sixties and seventies. Dial up some Nickelodeon or reruns of The 100 Club. Give me modern drama and fiction any day.

No doubt ancient Greek philosophers were saying the same thing about Greek society. Tying it into one of the most watched series is a cheap vehicle he's using to make his point, which he doesn't do a very convincing job of anyway. If this article was about a show no one watched then it wouldn't have gotten any reads in the first place.

Everyone that needs to be in the same place or meet one another has done so. Now sh*t can really start to get good. I totally think Jon is going to get roasted by a dragon. Then stand up, brush him self off, and go kill some undead.
I take back what I said about Sansa - to an extent. She really was a spoiled little brat but she might be one of the characters with the broadest range of growth. Really liked when she walked away, grinning slightly, from Ramsey. ;D

I was texting my brother earlier and my quick thoughts on it were
that Jamie would be taken by Dany's troops back to Dragonstone. He will be used as a lever against Cersei. Once she finds out he's lost the Lannister army, regardless of the dragon, she will marry Euron to cement her alliance and to spite Jamie. Who she will leave on Dragonstone as he is now useless to her. It also effects a meeting of Jamie, Bronn, Jon and Tyrion. Jamie wants to kill Tyrion for killing their father Tywin. Jon wants a piece of Jamie for what he did to Bran and the Lannisters involvement in the death of Ned Stark. Bronn will play peace maker between Tyrion and Jamie. Dany will send Jon back to the North to avoid Jon and Jamie trying to kill each other. And Jon will go with unbent knee. And possibly a dragon. Rhaegon if I don't miss my guess.
I'm not sure Martin is ever going to finish the books. It looks like he's got a serious case of writers block and has had one for a couple of years at this point.
It must be tough for him though the way the show has taken off. It went from his baby to so much more.

That's part of it I'm sure. Another part is that there are so many more characters in the books that they follow. Not even ones that just never showed up on the show, but there's a lot of characters that are dead and gone on the show that are alive in the books.
He's created so many threads that need closing that it's going to be hard to put them all together in just two books. And consider that he's only produced one book during the run of the show, and is currently also writing on other things and working on other projects.
My wife is a serious fangirl of the novels, and she's essentially given up.
I can only imagine Tolkien trying to finish LoTR while Peter Jackson was releasing movies.
Rowling did well to get Harry Potter done while the films were being made.
Martin wrote himself into a hole with "Dance With Dragons.' It's just not a very good book. At least not in my opinion.
And I have to think that he shared the whole shooting match with Benioff and Weiss before they even made one episode. So while the shows may have exploded, I don't know as that is causing Martin any consternation. He's worked in tv before so he knows how this all works.
They've said that Martin wrapped it all up for them in case he fired before they finished

Bing watched season 7 over the last couple days. Being a short 7 episode season it wasn't that bing worthy---but the shows so good I could never wait a week for an episode---thank you amazon.
The season was filled with battles--so much so I believe most of the budget was spent on them. The battles were done good but the short season compressed the story so much it felt sort changed and forced. The connection between Jon Snow and the dragon queen just never convinced me- probably due to lack of scenes/time. With Snow's true identity known (at least to the viewer and not Snow as of yet) it gives one to wonder what the last season will bring. The dragon queen has indeed spent 7 seasons working to get the iron thrown--remembering how easily she dismissed her brother's death to the melting gold crown it's hard to imagine once knowledge of snow reveals itself to her she'll just bend a knee to him or even agree the two rule together. Seeing how Snow has never shown an interest in ruling to begin with I half expect he'll refuse anyway...and with Martin far short of writing the last 2 books- which at this rate he may die before they release-- the season's ending are at the hands of HBO writer's.
I've read they've wrapped the season writing and are now actually writing spin-off show episodes-- so much like Breaking Bad we're going to get at least one 'Better call Saul".
So how it all ends is a pretty good quess either snow or his rival lover will rule or both. And we can imagine how the lannistars come to a end. My guess killing the head of the undead will kill the rest--we might see another dragon death with just one surviving-so the King/Queen of the Iron thrown can do the ending scene for the show.
Overall story wise I was disappointed. Seeing little finger die was half expected-- where most of the season tried to crame so many storylines in they almost all failed to convince. No this season was about the action scenes. the drama scenes fell short for me. --I understand the reason for the short season---so they could shoot during winter- but that really hurt -- we needed 3 more episodes to get the story we got--
My personal feeling after the season---The Dragon queen lost some of her appeal to me. Snow was basically out of character--I know coming back from the dead is a jolt but his personality never recovered. The rest of the side characters-the few the season dealt with--all felt rushed -- and the show just failed to deliver the drama it usually shines at.

He really stalled on the book--there's even websites devoted to "just write the damn thing". He's said he's pulled and replaced chapters and then put them back...etc--I think he knew the book was falling short and he struggled trying to fix it- and the more he struggled the worse it got.
You have to wonder if the last 2 books will ever get published - or even written if it comes to that.
The brann/night king thing is a decently subscribed to theory
I don't know what it means but it's also the first time EVER Jamie has got on a horse that isn't white when he left cersei
2 actors have played the Knight king- in season 4 it was Richard Brake. From season six and onwards, he has been replaced by Slovak stunt actor Vladimir Furdik. In the books, the King was not a White Walker himself but rather a fallen commander of the Night Watch who sold his soul for the affection of a woman "with skin as white as the moon and eyes like blue stars" – a White Walker.
