You misspelled Bush.
A few years ago, my wife transcribed one of her hospital reports
My cousin has a signed picture of the two of them sitting together at a whistle stop campaign tour in 92.
I met her and not-yet-President Bush in 1979 in Houston when Bush was kicking off his run for the Presidency against a crowded Republican field, including Ronald Reagan. I shook Bush's hand while thinking he would never be President, lol. Even back then Barbara had that shock of white hair. She's a great lady, Barbara Bush.
Rest In Peace, Mrs. Bush.
George H.W. used to fly down to the Keys to fish when he was President and my brother being a Captain in the Sheriff's Office used to be on the Protective Detail every time he came down. He's got lots of pics with President Bush who always liked meeting the local cops but I don't think Barbara ever came with him fishing.

Isn't "leaving the wife at home" sort of the whole point of a fishing trip?
True dat. O0
If you think the wife stays home while the husband is fishing, then you don't look at your credit card bill/bank account.
When I worked for United back in 99-2000 at IAH, Lufthansa contracted us to work the ground for their FRA-IAH and IAH-FRA flights. British Air's (at the time) 747 was at the next gate, maybe 30 feet away. I remember Barbara and the two Bush girls (they were little at the time) going up the jet stairs to board the BA flight.
Another time I was putting the pushback/tow bar onto the Lufthansa's nose gear when several dark-windowed SUVs pulled up not ten feet from me and a bunch of stereotypical Secret Service types got out. Bush hopped right out and shook someone's hand and went up the jet stairs. It all happened so fast it took my brain a minute to realize whoa, that was George Bush Sr. not ten feet away from me. I'm surprised the SS didn't make me stand back.
You are probably only slightly more threatening looking than me.
I'm at least twice as tall as you are.
But you're still probably more threatening than me.
Do you look more like Cleetus from Dukes of Hazard or Shaggy from Scooby Doo?
More like Joe Don Baker on his downslide years.
Well at least it's not Fat Elvis or The Last Years of Marlon Brando.

I didn't know she has COPD - was she a smoker?
Bourbon is considered THE Comfort Med. :notworthy:
COPD doesn't necessarily come from smoking; it's an inflammation of the lung that restricts air flow. It can come from bronchitis and/or pneumonia infections, and emphysema as well. Any air irritant, like smog or pollution (including first- or second-hand smoke) can contribute to it.
It is being reported that Barbara Bush has passed. RIP.
yep, just saw that

RIP Barbara. You brought a bit of class to an increasingly undignified American Political Scene.
RIP Mrs Bush.

+1. And I hope George is able to handle this. :(
Damn. That happened fast. RIP Barbara. :(
And I imagine George won't be far behind her...those two were awfully close, and I thought he was in much poorer health than her, damn it all. :(

That has been the prevailing thought tonight. :-\
Very sad news. I have the greatest respect and admiration for the Bushes. Very Class Acts both of them. :'(
Forget politics. I've seen some horrible "Good riddance" and worse moments on my facebook.
A good woman, a good person. Her husband is a good man too, and I'd imagine he's not far behind. I wouldn't be either if I lost my wife.
I mourn her, she was an example of what we need as a first lady.
Rest in peace, Barbara.
As you can imagine, the local community is taking it pretty hard. The outpouring of support is legendary. I'll give Houston that, though not much else.
RIP
RIP. I've never met her, I never saw her, but she seemed like a classy lady and overall decent human being.
This was during an interview that W gave to Fox Business this morning.
Quote"I went over to see her a week ago Saturday," George W. Bush said. "She and I were needling each other, and she turned to the doctor and said, 'You want to know why George W. is the way he is?' And the doctor looked somewhat surprised. She said 'Because I drank and smoke when I was pregnant with him.' She's funny."

RIP. I agree she was a very classy lady.
