I've been checking the surf cams all day.  It looks like the forerunners of the Irma swell are just now starting to fill in.  A bit too late to go out at this point, but tomorrow is shaping up to be a pretty fun day of surf, and Saturday looks to be very, very good.

That's a good plan. What's a good liquor to not-give-a-shit-about-anything drink through a hurricane? I'd like one that drowns out family, kids, bad news, and "Did I ever tell you the story" type noise.

I'm waiting to hear back from a friend who lives in Anguilla, hoping her family is safe. I saw some pictures on the news today and the place is really devastated. Apparently their local radio, even the internet is out, although wireless smart phones are working. :(
