WOW! Is it even Friday for you yet? ;D
Nothing for me - off to Bonnie Scotland for a week...so ZERO gaming. Enjoy everyone.
The weekend started for me at 4:55 PST on Tuesday. So far its been a mix of Diablo 3 and Kerbal Space Program. The rest of the weekend will be a mix of:
Kerbal Space Program - Been practicing basic maneuvers in sandbox mode this week. No inter planet trips, but I've done several trips to both of Mun and Minmus. I even started building my first space station in Kerbin orbit. Going to start my first career game this weekend. Also been trying out various mods and now my KSP install is starting to look like my Skyrim folder.
Distant Worlds: Universe: Most of my time will be spent with this. One of my most anticipated releases of the year.
Wasteland 2: Along with an official release date announcement, it got a major patch this week.
Diablo 3: I got several legendary blacksmith plans during the anniversary event this week, now I need to start hunting down the unique crafting materials required to make them.
Well might give wot a rest as got my free SuperPershing but had to put in a lot of time to get it!!!! might get dw universe or play one of the many games that I have that have not had a decent look.
Distant Worlds:Universe, of course. I also plan to get in some retro PC board-gaming. I just reinstalled Armageddon Empires and Montjoie!
Dailies for
World of WarCraft,
HearthStone, and
World of Tanks (http://worldoftanks.com/en/news/22/memorial-day-weekend-2014/?utm_medium=email_blast&utm_source=2014_05_23_WoT_MemorialDay_NA_EN-2014052223&utm_campaign=--&emst=0mCGfcBvJU_585848_125351_185). I'm not sure what else, but I recently acquired
Democracy 3,
1849, and
Blackguards. I may fire up
Age of Wonders III or one of several games I purchased last week from GOG and GamersGate, including
Fall Weiss (http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-FAW/fall-weiss). Decisions, decisions.

Congrats on your free SuperPershing, but what did you do to get it? ???
It's Memorial Day on Monday, here in the States. It's a day of remembrance for the men and women who died in the service of their country's armed forces. It also serves as the unofficial start of the summer season. BBQ's and family gatherings. And beer. Lots and lots of beer. So, us U.S. gamers have a three day weekend and a little added something to think about with our hobby.
I chose to extend the three day weekend by taking the rest of the week off, so, after work today, I am a free man until 7am on June 2nd! It won't be the gaming bonanza I could hope for, but, there will be copious amounts of time spent on various contests of digital daring. And if you see me online, and want to get a game going, hit me up!
Just coming to the end of my week off as this past Monday was Victoria Day here in Canada.
Played more CiV than I expected.
Played lots of WoT on Xbox too.
Also played lots of Yardman and Honey Do Lister.... my aching back.... :buck2:
Just received Cards of Cthulhu KS edition so have to break that out. Hoping to get Unconditional Surrender today as well.
So looks like a board gaming weekend. :)

75K xp on all seven nations Tiers IV-VIII (only top ten finishes count) Japanese was a real grind....
I am going to play mostly the following 2 games:
- Horizon: Humans in Space about to win my first game (cough on cough easy cough).
- Total War Battles: Shogun about to finish the campaign.
Last weekend of the show I'm in, but with the extra day, maybe I can get my writing for the Birth of the Federation AAR and some reviews I owe, done this weekend.
My wife and I want to use the weekend to get away from all-things related to being house fire victims. We want normal! So, bearing that in mind, the weekend plans include:
Today: Get off work early & go see a movie! X-Men: Days of Future Past is starting.
Tomorrow: We have a nice long motorcycle ride planned with our Southern Cruisers chapter. If you've ever been to Hillbilly Hotdog in northern WV you'll know where we're headed. It'll be about a 300 mile day & the weather forecast is really good (for once)
Sunday: Since my wife is a Children's Minister, we'll be going to church then after that its GAMING SUNDAY - I'll be diving into Drums of War and Heroes of Stalingrad finally, with some sprinklings of Frontlines: Road to Moscow thrown in.
Monday: Family picnic - can't wait. :)
Happy weekend and Memorial Day everyone!
I too am free after today until June 2. Traveling to St. Louis with my buddies for.the first half, when back home will be starting the Rome 2 Hannibal at the Gates campaign. Have a good Memorial Day to all in 'Murica.
Long weekend here too
There will be war game red Dragon, and ck 2
In honor of Memorial Day, I will be having some Hot Wings and a couple of stiff drinks in memory of all the digital soldiers who've laid- down their digital lives in all manner of poorly executed battles and campaigns I've sent them into. It's the least I could do... and the least I can do is usually what I do. I will be sending them more company from CMRT and Decisive Campaigns WtP where I've gone from Case White to Case Yellow, the same as my teeth when I forget to brush and floss when I play this game too much. Thank you Service Men and Women everywhere for your sacrifices. O0
CM Red Thunder
Wings Over Flanders Field
Batman Origins
CK 2
EU IV

Ah Memorial Day. It will be my usual Big Gaming thing: WitpAE PBEM: the Japs are already sinking things, when will I ever get to sink something? And some CMRT, ARMAIII, CLOD, and some board games.
Might grab The Witcher games while they are cheap on steam, fancy some RPG.
Need to get into Europa Universalis IV which I bought recently.
Have a vassal game of Blood & Roses going, really like the Men of Iron system
Playtesting something else in Cyberboard.
Want to play something solo on the table, might do No Retreat: The Russian Front or give Infidel a go since I'm enjoying Blood & Roses so much.
Flashpoint Campaigns: Red Storm beta patch
Distant Worlds: Universe
and as always probably some Diablo 3.
I will probably spend some time reading as well. I just finished On Basilisk Station (free as ebook), and I'm about a 1/4 through Rick's The Generals.
More board games! Not sure what will get played...but many will see the table.
I'll give Kill Team another shot and see if I can get it running consistently, too.

I really like the Honor Harrington series, it's pretty much cheesy military scifi but very enjoyable.
You can get most of the series plus a load of other Baen ebooks from:
http://baencd.thefifthimperium.com/
for those that want some free reading.
Probably Endless Legend, Distant Worlds: Universe, Making History The Great War (to check out the latest update) and since I haven't fired it up in a while some Kerbal Space Program.
BoB Screaming Eagles for me.

CRAP! I mean good for you.... Finding another game to enjoy.... I don't need another series to get into.
Part of the reason in got into LnL was because I loved Squad Leader so much but could not relearn it for the life of me after being away fro it for about 15 years....
LnL has now filled my squad level tactical niche... I can't afford to have more than one..... :uglystupid2:

Basturd! >:(
I caved in and got the new Wolfenstein. Not too bad for a mindless hallway shooter, but maybe not worth $60. There is a mechanic that let's you play the game stealthy or guns blazing, unlike other hallway shooters.
Getting my feet wet with War Thunder Ground Forces. Finally unlocked some tanks that can kill.
I've also finally gotten around to the ArmA 3 campaign. I'm on Adapt, but losing steam. The missions are tedious, there is always a curve ball, and I'm starting to feel like the commanding officer is trying to get me killed or getting ready to betray me.

The game is difficult - even in easy it's hard. The accuracy of "spray and pray" and snipers is soul destroying.
But I would say (aside from the difficulty) that the missions are superb. They are very tense. I never liked (in any of the ARMA games) where I had to command troops. It just never worked out right for me and I always dropped the games when it got to that stage...but I haven't with this one.
The story is good and believable. trouble is, it's so damn hard, even on easy!

It's always been a problem with OFP games.
I found a solution that is working: Difficulty-AI Difficulty-Custom then turn down the accuracy to .10. It makes firefights much more intense.
Is that in settings or one of the config files?
And how does it change combat?

They no longer laser beam snipe you from 3km away. They still shoot a bunch, just dont hit as much
Dawn of Discovery after buying it two years ago, I'm finally getting around to playing it.
CMFI
Silent Hunter III
So far it's been Skyrim FTW!

I've debated picking up ARMA 3 sometime, but the futuristic setting/equipment doesn't entice me much. Kinda wish they'd go back to the 80s setting of Op Flashpoint. :'(
I'll just play some ARMA 2 if I ever actually feel the need - didn't play it much yet anyway.
Last night I finished the latest Tex Murphy game The Tesla Effect, which I thought I had pre-bought earlier but I guess not. :P
It's a monstrously huge game at almost 14 gigs, but that's due to the high-def 1080p video of course, which tends to show ALL THE WRINKLES on people. :))
For fans of the Tex Murphy games, I'd say it's pretty great; no actual knowledge of the previous games is necessary (thanks to how the plot is set up), but they definitely help and the game was certainly made for the fans. I'm not sure the overall plot hung together completely in the end, but it's no worse in that regard than any previous game. Somewhat less atmospheric than previous games, but still involves a dead-beat private investigator saving the world in the end.
And yes, it thoroughly explains (eventually) the ending of the previous game (Overseer, actually a literal retelling/remake of the very first game Mean Streets), so that cliffhanger is resolved. Though reading the attendant novel would be a quicker way of going through the story I expect.
It's meant to be a grand finale to the series (though for some reason its scope seems a little more restricted than previous entries), but room is left open for further games or novels someday. How Chris Jones has not yet become a successful character actor in Hollywood is beyond me; as always he's ridiculously talented and charismatic as Tex. Previous standard actors return to acquit themselves well (though it's hard not to suspect that one actor's role was radically minimized due to having put on a lot of weight in the 16 years since the last game OH MY GOD I FEEL SO OLD!!) and the guest stars generally do a good job as usual. Even James Earl Jones returns briefly as God (aka the Big PI in the Sky) for a cameo in the introduction. (Chris himself does NOT return as "Inspector Burns" the pyromaniac, but the character is sort of spiritually present.)
Definitely worth the full $20 on Steam (and I suppose other outlets?) for Tex fans; others nostalgic for classic hotspot hunting adventures in cheap 3D engines and hung together with full-motion video on lots of greenscreening, may wish to wait for a sale.
Oh, and all Tex Murphy games are available at GoG, though there's no point playing the first one (Mean Streets) as it's upgraded and retold in Overseer. Still, the only way to get the 2nd game Martian Memorandum is to buy them both as a package.

World of Tanks for the 1st time in about a year. I think I managed a couple of missions in
Door Kickers as well.
Finished reading
The Honor of the Queen, book 2 of the Honor Harrington series. Since I have been reading the Honor books, my civilization is appropriately a monarchy named Manticore in my DW:U game.

this may rekindle some interest in the game - do you set both settings to .10 (i thinks theres precision and skill)
