where was the plane when the "challenge" happened? Because US surveillance planes have been known to stray into Chinese airspace (legit airspace, not their "we're claiming half the damned Pacific" airspace)
That game of tag has been going on since the '50s... only then it was the Rsukies. It all part of testing the other guys response procedures. Not sure why this made the news actually..... ???

It's not clear, but implied that we weren't in their airspace.
