It might be bad enough. I just got off a phone call where I heard some companies are declaring disasters from a network and IT perspective. This stuff probably does not make the news for obvious reasons.

i heard that Nappa valley quake was a different geological fault then St Andreas,

... the bad thing is that one quake can 'trigger' another one down the line
(article about that study was printed in Scientific American a few years ago)
