Title: The Wargamers Shelfie
Post by: spelk on August 30, 2014, 08:19:15 AM
I got this idea from a bunch of Science loving folks on twitter who were doing a Science nerd's Shelfie shot (a photograph of their book shelf, with their hobbies books on it).

So, to start it all off heres my Wargamers Shelfie

Great idea for the thread.  Must organize my shelf so that I can submit a pic.  First I gotta move all of the wife's girly books out of the way though!

Cool ldea!

Make sure you set your image's width so that it's not scrollable.

Instead of

make it

...if it's over 800 pixels in width, that is. ;) And if you don't care, that's cool too, lol.

Here also. I have all my books mixed together, history, fiction, and whatnot- one bookcase in the living room, one bookcase in my bedroom, and three bookcases in my 'den'. Also one bookcase in the bedroom with my boxed dead-tree games. I'll try to get a montage of them tomorrow.

Typical. All you care about is how a big set of book racks we have.   ::)

Here's mine (I don't keep my war history books on a separate shelf so you have to put up with my erratic eclectic tastes in reading):
(EDIT: sorry for the pic quality.)

Let me rephrase. You probably have some good stuff in there, it is hard to tell. If you put your camera on something so it doesn't shake in the long exposure of dim light, people could look further  into the titles. Like look them up on amazon.

I'll try and redo some if I can find my Olympus camera. The ones I posted were done with my old iPhone 3 which doesn't like dim light at all.

I'll say one good thing about my Windows phone - it takes excellent pics, unlike the iPhone. However when my contract on this damn thing is up next year I'm going with the 6 (or 7 or 8 or whatever the hell they have by then) because I otherwise hate this Windows phone.

I see several books from several people I want to read by the fireplace. Still waiting for Star's bookshelf. ;-)

Most of my real books that you guys would be interested in are still in boxes. I have 3 bookshelves up with almost all titles Business, Architecture, science/engineering, Construction. You guys want to see the SF/Fantasy paperbacks, games, etc. It's in storage.

Haha!  Dammit geek, I'm an engineer not a librarian.   :)

I have to admit though I never really did have a good eye for organizing a bookshelf, DVD shelf, or any shelf for that matter.  I need bookshelf organization tutoring.

As for my Heresy collection.  I've lent out a couple of the titles to my friend and some others I didn't buy because I was able to read them from my local library.  I still haven't finished the series.  I've got book 14 I think that I bought a few months ago and haven't even started yet.
