I was trying to find a good picture of my dream home library and this is the best one I found from a quick search.

I don't see any possible way this is actually going to happen in my lifetime, but if I ever do create a home library, I want one like this with the leather seats, reading lamp, and dark wood bookshelves.

and it will never replace the tactile sense of picking up a book and turning a page.

it also doesn't work without power.

I do love me some Kindle action!

But, I'm with Starfury on this one- nothing beats sitting down with a good hardcover book.

What I really miss from my current house is a good, cozy, comfortable place to read.  My house isn't very big and for my little office area I decided to go with the Obutto cockpit option rather than a traditional desk/office.  While I like the Obutto it takes all of the room I could use to put an easy chair, and there really isn't anywhere else in my house suitable.

When I get my next house I'm really going to try to carve out a reading niche.  I'm heading to the northeast and those houses are usually a little better and many have finished basements, so the chance of setting up a small library area might be feasible.  I'd love to have a no-shit man cave, though, like Brant posted up in that other thread.  I don't know if I'll ever be able to pull that off.

Lets make a book perfume. Sell it to classy retailers.
Ode de Vellum.

I've been thinking of this thread, and looking at my pathetic little man cave, and I'm thinking of selling my aquarium to make room for my reading chair.   :'(
