Indiana Jones and the Secret of Century Village

I could get behind Cooper doing Indy, but not Patterson. He looks too much like a sparkly vampire.

I think this would end up being even more of a disaster than IV was, TBH.

Working title for the next movie, "Winidiana Jones: The Fossil-Hunting Fossil".

They made age jokes in Last Crusade and that was what, 1989? Sheesh.

IV was Godawfulfuckterrible. If space aliens weren't enough, Shia the shia-for-brains actor was absolutely ruinous. Thank GOD they didn't decide to revive Indy with his worthless ass.

Holy Crap!  Harrison Ford is 72?  Who the hell knew that?

I never watched the fourth Indiana Jones movie.  Hell to be honest I didn't even know the name of it until I read the article.  Well back to my modern pop culture obliviousness with me!

#4 was 50's and fun.  theres a borderline of fun and criticism that I refuse to cross.  its a fucking movie, get over it.

Never saw the fourth one but there were nerd rage riots around here because of how much hate it generated.

was it ever going to live up to the hype?

and the one before had Sean Connery in, and Templar Knights and the Holy Grail, it was going to be unbeatable

the only thing it missed was melting nazis

I'm not the biggest fan of The Big Bang tv series, but I like the episode where one of the characters debated the first Indiana Jones movie.  One of them caused an uproar when she said Indy had no impact on the outcome of the story (i.e. the Nazis still would have melted to pieces if he hadn't shown up).  Talk about nerd rage lol

My rage at IV isn't necessarily nerd rage, but more of a "just leave it be" rage. The Last Crusade was an excellent way to just end the Indiana Jones saga and be done with it.

Harrison Ford IS Indiana Jones, period. While I could see another actor doing it (see my previous post), I'd hope if they DO go that route, they DO NOT call him Indiana Jones.

So, okay, maybe a little nerd rage.

Wonder how things would have turned out if Tom Selleck hadn't turned down the role.

Or if Harrison Ford had played Commander Adama in the BG reboot. He was up for that too IIRC.

Selleck didn't turn down Raiders. CBS wouldn't let him do it because he was under contract for Magnum.

Ah, I thought he had turned it down when Magnum was picked up.

Basically the same thing happened to Pierce Brosnan with Bond. NBC had him under contract for Remington Steele and wouldn't let him take on Bond (even though NBC had already canceled Remington Steele and they only brought it back after the publicity Brosnan got from the Bond talk). Otherwise he would have taken over from Roger Moore, instead of it going to Timothy Dalton. Brosnan at least did get his chance later.

Of course, Magnum worked out pretty well for Selleck in the end. For a while there was talk of doing a Magnum movie with Tom Clancy writing the story. Would have had Magnum back Naval Intelligence and on some kind of mission. Sounded like a cool concept.
